SCF Fall 2014 ADN Program
I just wrote this huge comment, back-paged, and lost it! UGH lol. I am currently in Level III. Things are going well. I was in the first class of a brand new curriculum and things were crazy! the teachers had to learn a new curriculum too and it made and already stressful new program even harder, but I think things have settled down since August 2014 :) I have been at Englewood Community hospital for clinicals for all 3 levels and LOVE it there! Don't let others knock it down As far as getting in, it didn't hurt me or a few others to furnish letters of recommendation from prior professors in our application to the program. Once you get accepted, be preppared to spend some money. Uniforms, vaccinations, drug tests, background checks, about $1,300 for the book bundle, and other expenses. If you do not have records of your childhood vaccinations, I suggest getting your titers drawn now. One less thing that you'll have to do later. One other piece of advise is that if you get accepted wait until May to get your physical! LOL I got accepted and ran to the doc for my physical and then in Level II it expired in April and I had to rush back to get it while in class in order to finish the last week of class! That sucked. I will have to do that again in Level IV too! Good luck to you Jennifer!! Any other questions? Olivia

Awaiting acceptance State College of Florida-Manatee?
I was so excited about my acceptance email that I read it all wrong. Submitted my intent to enroll and forgot to register for the second meeting. It had to be done by noon today. I sure hope I don't lose my seat over this

I will be attending the Venice campus and will be at Orientation tomorrow. I left another comment on a different thread, freaked about about forgetting to register for the prescription for success though (

SCF Fall 2014 ADN Program
I was accepted to the Venice campus as well and will be at Orientation tomorrow afternoon, although I am a WRECK right now because I went over the email to make sure I didn't miss anything and although I faxed in my intent to enroll, I did not register by noon today for my Prescription for Success meeting! OH my gosh, how could I be so stupid.. I miss understood and thought I had to have the Intent in by 12pm today and thought we were registering for the other mandatory class during orientation. I emailed Laurel Ash and tried to call, but no answer! I sure hope I don't lose my seat over this misunderstanding. I haven't actually missed the meeting, but how lousy of me to miss such an important detail. Wow. Did everyone else register for the Prescription for Success?

My grandmother was a RN for 25 years before retiring. She didn't start school until after I was a child and I was my mother's 3rd.. Her story has been a great motivator for me :)

Which is harder: A&P 1 or A&P 2?
I felt A&P I to be more of a challenge since all of the terminology was new, you had no idea how to pronounce everything, and learning all of the bones and muscles were a challenge. When A&P II came along, I had half of it down already so all new information seemed much easier to understand.

Fall acceptance letters 2014
I have a 4.0 in my pre-req classes, a 3.8 in core-reqs (not including my micro class since exams are next week!) and good scores on my TEAS V. My application deadline is May 15th so that we can finish this semester before submitting our applications. I am SO ready and SO excited! It has taken me 3 years to finish all of these classes. I am a 31 year old married, mother of 4. One child I even became pregnant with and had during all of these classes and #3 was 5 months old when I started school. It has been hard, but I am finally here and finally ready! I sure hope I get accepted!!!
