Myers-Brigg personality test....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

Hi Everyone..I thought it would be fun if we took the Myers-Brigg personality test and shared with everyone what our specialty is or what we hope to do (if not yet a nurse or want to change jobs). If you're confused maybe this can help. For example...as an INFP (introverted, intuitive, feeling, peceiving) I would be more suited to work in mental health, public health or oncology. I would not work out so well in the ER, OR or medical surgical. I knew all this but the description just makes me more confident that my intuition about myself was probably right on. HERE'S ANOTHER INTERESTING LINK TO CHECK OUT INFO ABOUT YOUR TYPE!!!! :)

I think it helps to get some insight to your natural temparament and to keep it in mind in choosing your work setting. I know it's not the end all and be all but it's a tool that can be used and it could be helpful. I hope others find this at least a little hepful.

I posted this before but it was moved to the breakroom so maybe this time it wll get a better response. I love this forum..you guys are great!

INFJ...I was INTJ when i took it 10 years ago in an office setting, interestingly. Guess I picked the right profession. :)

    somedayss I wonder why I'm a nurse... ESTJ (22, 25, 25, 67)... hmm?? where do I fit in???

Anywhere you want to really. ESTJs are often natural leaders. :wink2:

    INFJ 22, 25, 75, 100%

    It says I am:

    slightly expressed introvert

    moderately expressed intuitive personality

    distinctively expressed feeling personality

    very expressed judging personality

I thought it was horrible sounding until I read the description and it fit me to a "T". Interesting..........

One of my favorite things is to get a "read" on a patient and figure out if I can help them. I'm talking not the basic scientific nursing things, (and they're important), but the psychosocial or emotional stuff....Love it!

I always figured I'd do social work because of that, but nursing is sooooo much better!

    Thanks for the link!

I just took the test & am Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging. This test was right on the money! Everything they said was true-I am very sympathetic towards others, expect my family & myself to stick to the highest of standards, can see the bigger picture, can usually be correct when i predict what will happen, etc.:) I work in med/surg/tele
