4.0 Challenge!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone! I'm a pre-Nursing student with two semesters of pre-reqs to do before I can apply to the Nursing Program at my University. Who wants to start a support thread and help motivate each other? We can list our classes for the fall and report back with updates/venting/encouraging as needed. I'll start:

A&P I with Lab

Fundamentals of Organic & Biochem with Lab

Nursing 110 (a survey introductory course at my school serving as an overview of Nursing)

Sociology 105

I'd love to hear what everyone is taking! Good luck, you can do this!

:specs::)

Great idea! Just found this. I have some not so good grades from a previous degree so I NEED straight As. This is my first semester of prereqs.

Intro Psych- high A, shouldn't have a hard time maintaining it. Got 100% on a couple tests.

Human Bio- currently probably a B (got an 84 on 1st test) but we have labs and the lowest test grade is dropped so I think I'll be fine.

Lifespan Development- Got an 88% on the first test, and there are also participation points and writing assignments so again, I think I'm fine but I still better be all buckled down.

Good for you! Keep it up!

How do you have 105%?

Lots of studying, duh!

Just kidding, although I do study a great deal. We do clicker questions during lecture. You get one point for answering them, and one point for answering them correctly. This pads you with about 50 points as extra credit. I also got 124/125 on the first lecture exam, so I'm doing pretty well there and I'm really really happy about it!

About one month in, I got 106% on my first AP 1 exam. I don't get graded in development psych yet so we'll see!

A&p II- 93

Math-89 (had a 100 but scored in the 80s on a test that counts for 25 percent of our grade... Yikes!

Micro-97

Specializes in Psychiatry, Oncology.

Micro with Lab and Genetics this semester. After taking General Bio and Chem in the Spring and A&P I and II in two grueling short summer semesters and working almost full time, my main challenge right now is stamina. Running out of gas a little. Good luck to all!

Specializes in Psychiatry.

Hope everyone is having a good semester! I wish we had extra credit, luckies!

These are my grades as of midterms:

Art Appreciation - 95%

Religion - 97%

Logic & Critical Thinking - 98%

Microbiology - 99%

Micro Lab - 98%

Anthropology - 94%

A&P II - 87%

Micro - 94%

Human Growth & Development (online) - 96%

Beginning Swimming - A

The only class that I'm having trouble with is the swimming class lol. But in my A&P II, we are having quizzes, exam, & lab exam back to back it's a lot of work. I'm not having trouble with micro nor human growth & development they're pretty easy compare to A&P II. I'm most definitely aiming for a 4.0 this semester.

Hey all hope im not too late to join the thread. Anyways after a bad summer semester i finished physiology with a C which kept me from making the nursing program this coming up spring semester. Brought my GPA down from a 3.5 to a 3.17

Im currently re taking physiology with lab along with microbiology with lab

Currently have a

97% in micro

And a 95% in physiology

It is a must for me to finish both with As as i will not take any chances when i re apply for the program in march!

Good luck to all!! We can do this!!

These are my grades as of midterms:

Chemistry- 102%(due to extra credit)

Humanities - 95%

Abnormal Psychology - 120%(plus extra credit)

Microbiology - 90%

Micro Lab - ?

Nutrition - 100%

I hope i can maintain my grades and my 4.0

Hi! I am currently retaking A&P2 with lab for the second time since I didn't get a good grade last time. I am currently on the waitlist for the LPN program. While I wait I want to retake classes for the RN program in the long run. Thinking if I should just wait and apply for the RN program instead. Or put my names on both and see which one I get into first? What do you thjnk?

Specializes in Maternal Child, Home Health, Med/Surg.

Hi everyone! We are 6 weeks in at my school and here are my classes and grades;

Microbiology - 95

AP1 - 93

Med Terminology 1 - 100

Med Terminology 2 - 100

English - 88 :(

My English teacher is extremely critical, brand new and won't tell us what he wants! I complained about my recent paper being an 89, to which he responded with 'that's f'in great!! I normally give out 60's'

Totally not making me feel any better :(
