Im graduating in may with a BS in health sciences from Michigan State. The nursing program is extremely hard to get into here so I just decided to get a health related degree while there and then apply to other nursing programs when I graduated.
I applied to about 4 schools and I just got accepted into my first choice school so I dont even care about hearing from the rest of the schools I applied to. Im really excited/nervous and proud of myself because I got in on the first try:D. I also get to start off in the actual nursing courses and clinicals since I already have all the gen ed and pre req courses completed, which also cuts down the cost by $18,000!
I was accepted into the 2010 Maryville University Nursing Program in St. Louis for Fall. I am very excited about it. It is the weekend/evening program so I will also be able to work. Unfortunately I have not been able to find anykind of job in healthcare or out of healhcare. People keep telling me you need to have connections to get anykind of job and that is hard for me to believe. I have worked previoiusly in hospitals doing unit secretary work and I also currently do volunteer work here at a children's hospital but I am still unable to find a job. I have a BS in another field also. Would anybody have any suggestions for me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
Applied for the first time to a nursing school (ever) and only to UTHSC-SA (only university that doesn't require me to take more classes along with getting a BSN). I got accepted for the Fall 2010 semester. So looking forward to starting in Aug. : )
Hello everyone! I applied to Cal State for the BSN program for Fall 2010 and I will not hear until mid-July if I am accepted or not. They are waiting on our final transcripts which have to be in by the end of June. Please keep me in your prayers and send good thoughts my way because I really need this acceptance. I have two children, my husband is unemployed and my mom lives with me. So technically, I have to work and feed five mouths everyday. It is tough. I am a good person and I know I will be a great nurse. I finsihed all of my prerequisites with a 3.89 GPA overall. Cal State only accepts ONCE a year and they are only accepting 22 students! I am so worried, but I know I have to have faith to keep me from going CRAZY! LOL! Thanks for all of the posts and congratulations to you all!
Congrats everyone!!!! i too am starting the BSN program in fall 2010!!! i got my acceptance letter back in january..what im most nervous about is this is my first time college experience!!! hopefully ill do fine:)
What is everyone doing to prepare? Two months and 18 days till start day!!
I started my immunization, CPR, and all the needed paperwork. And decided to vacation in Hawaii for a week before I dedicate my life to nursing school. How about you? :)
