I went and bought next semester's books and I even have three of the classes syllabi. Not only that, but in addition to my nursing classes, I have one last Gen Ed class to take and I have already chosen the book I have to read and to write a paper on and I plan to have it read and the paper written before classes start.
I've been reading up on child health nursing all day and that's when I'm not reading my anthrpology book!
What's wrong with me? It's like I can't stop studying for even one minute.
Maybe I shouldn't have bought the books, because before today I actually took a break and watched some movies.
I think I'm just the kind of person that only needs a short break form studying and then I can start right back up again. I think I actually like school! :trout:
Quick Smattles has sarcasm RT lack of semester break AMB saying school study guides are "fun"! Ok, I'm such a student....
Seriously, I decided to look online for a few books and got good 50% off deals on them buying from others..I have enough to read/study as I just started new job Monday and having to learn hospital P&Ps are driving me crazy..however, I did learn how to break holds today...so preparing me for a future in which no one will pull my hair...all 1.5 inches of it when it's cut!
I might look over a few things the week before semester starts..but I wouldn't count on it. The funny thing? Most of the other students will probably refer to me as "the smart guy" all the time, no matter what I'm getting!
What is wrong with you gals? LOL Nah, just kidding...wishing I could be more motivated to return to school and either get an advanced degree in nursing or something else entirely different.
I admire your industrious drive. If your work ethic is anything at all like your learning drive, you'll go far in the world of NP/CRNA/whatever else you all are pursuing....GOOD LUCK, you studious readers of informative textbooks of your professions!!! LOL
Happy Christmas and don't read while opening gifts! Enjoy the season.
Pray. Eat, drink, be merry while the festivities are here! :Holly2: :icon_surprised:
Nope - not me. I'm taking a break. I've been going to school since January, non-stop. Went all summer with a 3 day break between my last GenEd course and nursing school. I NEED this break, and my family needs me.
I do have my books and syllubus for next semester, and I already have an assignment to study before we get back, so of course I have to prepare for that. I won't do it though, until after Christmas.
I received three A's, so I'm on the right track, somehow. I'm doing something right, so I'm going to take this break and relish every single moment. Now excuse me while I take a nap.
(Kudos to all of you who are keeping at it....enjoy the break no matter HOW you spend it. We ALL deserve it!)
Are any of you guys scared to unwrap your books? I am so scared something will go wrong and I wont be able to start and I will be stuck with a thousand dollars worth of books. I know this sounds crazy since I have taken the cpr class, aids cert., had my physical (which was scary since I have a heart condition. But I PASSED it with the Dr. I seen for 8yrs now), had my shots, etc. I have everything done waiting on the semester to start and still scared to take the plastic off.

I hear ya! I can't seem to put down my books. What's even worse, I DON"T START nursing classes until MAY!
I already have the text and syllabi. I have bought a bunch of kewl books from half.com and AMazon.
(Hey do you guys have any book suggestions??? )
I can't wait to get my books and start studying, but my school is so disorganized they never can get the texts we need on time. I'm bored I need to start studying, I feel like I miss school and even the stress related to it. I'm anal retentive and try to get all A's so studyuing before school starts sounds great to me, because it puts me ahead of the game and I wouldn't have to cram.

Holy heck not me! lol! I even have refused to buy my community book until right before class starts.
Right about now I am in serious need of this break. I had complete and utter burnout near the end of Psych. So, I decided I would refuse to read/study anything over Christmas break and it's been great so far...other than having a nasty virus that has bedridden me...go figure.....all that stress has worn me down. "exhaustion" phase going on right here, right now. lol
Have fun though! Should you feel bored feel free to read Brunner and Suddarth GI chapters and give me a synopsis....just kidding.
