BSN vs ADN Education?????

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am preparing a debate in a BSN program. I have to argue BSN should not be required for entry into pratice as a professional RN. What do you think either way??????

Just a cautionary note, here. As veterans of this board are well aware, the argument for BSN vs ADN, as well as other threads of this genre (LVN vs RN, etc.), will not cease, nor will one or other side prevail. As long as participants are respectful of other posters opinions, and remain w/in the TOS, have at it. If problems arise, the mods will close it and let it rest with all the other similar threads.

Thanks, everyone.

That would start a whole new debate: Did you get your BSN at a community college or a university?

OR

Community college BSN vs University BSN

This would be funny if it weren't so likely to happen.

Specializes in ICU.

this should be the caveat in all Education Choice threads.

BY the way, where, oh where, is the OP???? :)

Kinda like a food fight in grade school, the OP probably ducked out when things started flying.... haha ... Smart move....

Was that an ADN diploma I saw whiz by? Who tossed that stethescope? I got bonked in the head with a BSN and have a hospital diploma stain on my shirt....

So are you implying that if we use alot of curse words and call each other ugly names, we can (hint, hint) get this thread closed?????????

(Ya know....it is tempting..but I think that I have caused enough trouble lately.....)

Yet another reason why nurses should stay as far away from the white uniform as possible! I've heard those hospital diploma stains are even harder to get out than baby formula! :p :p

I hope that BSN didn't leave a mark! The ADN diploma just missed me, but thankfully I managed to duck in time. :sofahider

Well, that would be one way of doing it, for sure. ;) OR, you could just pm a mod and ASK them to close it. OR, we can wait for bloodshed. They've already started throwing sheepskins @ one another.

I'd hate to get pm's saying I'd "closed it prematurely". (Hey, I'm a neonatal nurse, prematurity rocks.) I hate when that happens. Not the closing part, just the nasty pms.
