Official Statement Regarding Passing of Brian Short, Founder of allnurses.com, September 12, 2015

We are deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Brian Short, founder of allnurses.com. We respectfully request that you grant the company's employees, friends, families and associates privacy during this difficult time. allnurses will continue to support nursing professionals by providing an unparalleled peer-to-peer online community where they can share experiences and learn from and support one another.

Brian provided a wonderful place to learn,to grow to vent when we needed to and to just share, because lets face it nursing is exhilarating but exhausting! I wish he and his family could have have had the help he gave to so many and send my prayers to all!

To: the allnurses admin team....I am saddened by your terrible loss and pray in time good memories will replace the pain you are all in right now!

I honestly don't know what to say. Stories like these just leave me speechless and confused. No one can know what happened in the home that day, but we do know how much we appreciate what Brian did for us. I hope the friends and family that were left behind can find peace some day with this tragedy. What a loss for all of us on AllNurses.

Thank you, Brian, for making Allnurses a place for us. I came here as a hospice nurse in a difficult situation and gained clarity from fellow nurses across the country.

My heart goes out to Brian and his family, and to those who remain behind.

I've been a member of Allnurses on and off for years and thanks to Brian, met some wonderful, supportive people here.

We're all going to miss him.
