What are your breakroom or break time pet peeves? I bet stealing people's food is on top, but there is way more. I'll give mine to start:

1. There are a few chairs, to begin with, in the tiny breakroom. Your Target backpack DOES NOT require a chair. Put it on the floor or leave it in the car.

2. Headphones were invented I think in the 80s. I don't want to listen to your phone calls, music, or Youtube videos. Read or buy some headphones for 99 cents.

3. If you see me with my headphones or my face in a book that is a clear clue.

Yes especially to #2 and #3!
#2 is just plain rude, I get if you were alone and then someone walked in but once another person walks into the break room, switch it to headphones or turn it off. Same goes for FaceTiming/being on speaker phone.

#3 drives me insane - read the room! Let me have my 10 minutes in peace; if I want to talk to you, I’ll take out my headphones.

Another pet peeve is just general dirtiness, the way people just leave things around in the break room for someone else to clean up.

TV is on something obnoxious and the volume is turned up full blast. There is a reason I take lunch at off peak times.

don’t get me started on phone calls. There are people at my work, that not only talk loud, but also have there phone on speaker!

then there are the people that never clean up after themselves.

Oh and the people that eat loudly. I mean LOUDLY!

Engineer Nathaniel Baldwin invented the first pair of audio headphones resembling modern day pairs at his kitchen table in 1910.

Guilty! Don't get mad cause I'm enjoying my sun chips. Want some?

The prior shift left y'all some pizza in the break room from their pot luck.

"How thoughtful?"

We used to call those "pizza bones"...

Minor pet peeve: people commenting on my food. I mean you can say that it smells good, but do I want to engage in conversation about what I'm eating? no.

Heating broccoli in the microwave is a bad idea.

Specializes in Hospice.

Bringing smelly food like tuna and then throwing it in trash for everyone to smell....ugghh.

Specializes in retired LTC.

Clogging up the nearest sink that's generally used by all. That and messing up the microwave with spilled over or burnt food.

Makes you kinda wonder what those folk do at home!

My clinic has a very large breakroom that, if it were full, would seat about 50 people.  It has a big-screen television which is ALWAYS tuned to the Steve Wilkos show-- have you seen this horrible thing?  It's families accusing one another of child molestation, generally, or other horrible crimes, publicly in front of a live audience.  He gives them lie-detector tests and then they jump around and scream and cry.  When I was a child, "Jerry Springer" was on TV, and this is in that same genre.  It's awwwwful.
