Biden loves nurses...awkward

Published

What does everyone make of President Biden saying " "I had a nurse named Pearl Nelson... She'd come in and do things I don't think you learn in nursing school, She'd whisper and she'd lean down and actually breathe on me to make sure there was a human connection.”

The context is that he appreciates nurses but.....awkward

I thought breathing on patients helps them grow.. or am I thinking of plants?

There's already a thread on Biden in this club. If this thread gets significant engagement, you might consider merging them.

He may be a "white boy" but he "isn't stupid" either.....

It could have been worse, he could have said "blew me" instead of "breath on me" so I guess it's a win for him. LOL

Although I take concern over his cognition, I would agree that it was a genuine sentiment that came out in a awkward way.

It isn't passing the sniff test for me, either. Shall watch and wait.

you do know that he overcame stuttering from childhood.

This thread is gonna turn uglier than it is already ?

That's what he claims.  There isn't any proof of this, and he has a history of making crap up.

I was watching a YouTube clip of folks from Scranton who grew up with him. None could recall this claim, and no one from adulthood could verify that it carried over. I also realize people can make clips that put in and leave out according to their needs/desired outcome. It's been a few years, pre primary for 2020, so I don't remember the exact YouTube channel/link, etc, but I'm sure if one wanted to view,  they could find with little to no effort, if still available

When did Biden have a "couple of craniotomies" ?

The facts and data of the state of crime in so many cities, inflation, prices of products, increase taxes taken from checks, jobs moved overseas or factory's completely shuttered to bended knee of extreme environmentalist, denying (not to mention not visiting ever) the border, the list goes on - says all I need to know about his Presidency. Regardless of  its political affiliation.

There has been a marked increase in crime nationwide since 2019. The current President caused that? Chicago alone (a favorite target) saw a jump in murders from 417 in 2019 to 633 in 2020 according to the CPD.

As for inflation - this is an issue worldwide. You would have to argue that the US President alone is causing that. Even with that ridiculous premise, the United States inflation rate is better than many other comparable countries and our rate is actually decreasing. IF you believe the US President is responsible for inflation you objectively should be happy with his performance. Except inflation is not a uniquely American phenomenon and it's incredibly more complex than simply who's sitting in the White House.

For someone who's worried about someone else's cognition you sure do spend a lot of time mindlessly regurgitating talking points that are absolutely not based in this reality. This has nothing to do with left vs right or red vs blue but are simply objective facts that one could look up with basic computer skills.

I think I might shed some light on the stutter claims. If you do a Google search there are basically zero results. But since not all information available prior to that is searchable, I recalled a 1992 book which involved the author focussing on a number of prominent candidates, interviewing lots of friends and relatives at length. I recalled that Biden was one of them, but it reads more like a novel than a biographical information source.

So here are a few quotes that reference a stutter. I decided to include 5 because nowhere does the book state "Joe Biden had a stutter."

"A stutter is a cruel affliction for a kid, because no one, not even he, can see anything wrong. It's not like a club foot, or a missing finger—where there's something physically, visibly wrong, and you have simply to shrug and do the best you can. No, a stutter is more insidious: it attacks directly a child's ability to make himself known and felt in the world."

"Joe did not stutter all the time. At home, he almost never stuttered. With his friends, seldom. But when he moved to Delaware, there were no friends. There were new kids, a new school, and new nuns..."

"Someone said a stutter was caused by facial muscles seizing up in nervous convulsion. So Joey stood for hours in front of a mirror, reading aloud..."

"It wasn't quick. It took years. But he learned to game it out. He learned, always to see himself in the situation to come, to think what he'd say, how he'd sound, what the other guy would say, and what the answer would be."

"He knew what he wanted to do and he did it. That's why he was the center of the wheel with the guys in Green Ridge, even with the stutter—might have beaten another kid down. . ."
