Biden loves nurses...awkward

Published

What does everyone make of President Biden saying " "I had a nurse named Pearl Nelson... She'd come in and do things I don't think you learn in nursing school, She'd whisper and she'd lean down and actually breathe on me to make sure there was a human connection.”

The context is that he appreciates nurses but.....awkward

I agree that it was awkward.  He stumbled over his words a little bit during his speech in Kiev.  His gait was noticeably halting as he approached President Zelensky, and he apparently slipped on the Air Force One stairs again.

What bothers me about this is that the more extreme opposition have an ongoing smear campaign which translates these awkward interactions into the "Creepy Joe" narrative to include pedophilia.  When there is an undercurrent about someone I think people will more readily connect it to that particular trait.

Ronald Reagan actually could read. Ford was a skilled athlete. George HW Bush was a war hero, not a wimp, and he could actually form complete sentences.

Sorry if I offended anyone with this post.

When I see his blunders, I feel bad for him.

I understand. My frame of reference often causes me to evaluate Biden against the backdrop of his predecessor. I see that meme where he is standing in front of an apocalyptic hellscape of billowing clouds of fire, captioned "my work here is almost done".

I know your intention was not political. But I'd be happy to have people come on over to the US Politics Forum for an idea-based throwdown.

you do know that he overcame stuttering from childhood.

Is your comment "and he could form complete sentences" meant to be a dig at Biden? Because you do know he has a lifelong speech impediment which is why he stumbles on words..

I do know that. I think if you re-read my post, you'll see that I was obliquely defending Biden. Sometimes my writing isn't clear, but I was attempting to convey it with this:

"What bothers me about this is that the more extreme opposition have an ongoing smear campaign which translates these awkward interactions into the "Creepy Joe" narrative to include pedophilia."

More generally, many presidents of both parties have been tagged with untrue faults and flaws based on an impression rather than the real person.

Not at all. My prior reply here to mmc51264 explains it as the same question was asked.

Biden is not mentally or physically capable of being President. This has nothing to do with politics. It's obvious he has cognitive and physical impairments. It's shameful those around him who profess to love him continue to use him and prop him up like an episode of "weekend at Bernie's".

I do think there is a "creep" type behavior in him (toward women and children especially) and that behavior extends way back to before he was Pres. so there is something there whether he intends it or not.

Regardless, his lack of ability on many levels leaves us all  vulnerable.

Yet he has been successful both in national policy and in international coalition building. I would invite you to visit the politics forum to discuss and contrast presidential performance.

I've been exposed to Biden's political career my whole life living near Delaware. My truck driver grandfather was a very affectionate man and his mannerisms were just like Pres. Bidens. He was beloved by nieces and nephews, touching their shoulders, picking up girls twirling them around, close face to face discussions with the boys, etc. His smile lit up a room  He paid attention to the little things in life, was not sports minded at all.  Other men in my extended family were similar.  My boyfriends thought he was unusual --so if not exposed to this type manhood can see how he can turn off people.

Thank you but no. I see enough of his "successful both in national policy and in international coalition building" in my higher taxes, increased crime, inflation..not to mention all the extreme "woke" stuff.

While I realize it's not all his fault, he did inherit (just as all Presidents do) problems.. his flavor of leadership (or at least its appearance) is weak.

I understand some people  will think he hung the moon no matter what he does/doesn't do, just as there will be people who think the same of Trump. But whether, I voted or didn't vote for him, doesn't change the fact he is struggling physically and cogitatively and it is becoming more apparent even to his most staunch supporters.

The facts and data of the state of crime in so many cities, inflation, prices of products, increase taxes taken from checks, jobs moved overseas or factory's completely shuttered to bended knee of extreme environmentalist, denying (not to mention not visiting ever) the border, the list goes on - says all I need to know about his Presidency. Regardless of  its political affiliation.

I guess we'll just let your extremely biased opinion stand since this isn't the place for that political discussion and you aren't interested in entertaining any evidence or dialog that counters your beliefs and opinions on the appropriate forum.

Talk about weak.

Seems a bit early in the 2024 campaign for this kind of planted smear. At least they waited until after the primaries in 2016 before starting these pseudo-discussions. The boards in this part of the site are, presumably, confined to nursing issues.

I agree with TMB, discussions about Biden's fitness for office are welcome in other parts of the site.
