Asking for prayers: multiple nursing students died in car accident

Published

Today has been a very devastating day. Early this morning on the way to clinical some of my fellow nursing classmates were killed in a car crash. There was an 7-8 car pile up, but only the nursing students were killed. There were 7 students all together, 5 killed, 2 critically injured. This deeply saddens me because this was their first semester in the program. It was also their last clinical of the semester. I do not know the 5 students personally but it hits so close to home. My nursing school is very small and we are all like family.

I am posting this to ask for condolences and prayers for the families of these students. Please do not hesitate to post. We would all appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

So sorry to hear about this. I am also hear in GA, and when I saw this on the news I was completely devastated. Prayers for their families and friends.

How devastating. I saw the news report stated two other students (did not specify whether nursing students) were critically injured.

We lost a classmate over a long weekend. She was ill with a "simple illness" and rapidly declined from complications. It was devastating for all in our class. There one day and gone when we returned on Tuesday.

I cannot imagine being in the lecture hall not knowing specifics then hearing the names of five active classmates tragically lost in an instant. It sounds like the school and community are offering a lot of moral and professional support, I hope those that need the services take advantage.

Healing thoughts to their families and classmates.

I just read this on the news like, ten seconds ago. So very sad- I feel like, as nursing students, we're all family because we all understand what we go through and where we've been to get where we are. To lose any one of us, but especially that many, is devastating. My true condolences, love, and light to you.

I'm terribly sorry to hear this. :( My last clinical day is tomorrow, and I could never imagine losing any of my cohort like that. My deepest condolences to you and your classmates.

Hi,

I just saw this on my Verizon Home Page, my heart breaks for these individuals and families. The first thlng that came to mind is the innocence a student nurse has as they strive for their Degree's.

To me most nurse's are Angels on Earth, I immediately felt God couldn't wait for these special Angels and wanted them home now. They have more important work to do in heaven, though we are the one's who are left devastated by this type of tragedy. My prayers and heart felt condolences to the families and their fellow students.

This is just horrific. patientlywaiting - when a tragedy hits that close to home it's always personal, whether you knew the students personally or not. (((hugs))) to you.

To the classmates and families dealing with this tragedy, deepest sympathy. Prayers for recovery of the two critical students and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. :redpinkhe:
