Hello, All! My packet for 66P AD packet is almost complete and will be submitted for the October Board, fingers crossed. Anyone else waiting for this board? How has your whole process been? Anyone who has previously undergone this experience is more than welcome to give input! Thanks!
Yes DCC is 4 weeks. It is more or less a crash course to basic training. Once completed most will do a few voluntary weeks working there b4 you will be out processed and then sent to Fort Sam or JBSA for BOLC. Its alot more strict at DCC than at BOLC so mentally prepare yourself for that. Congratulations to everyone who has been selected. Maybe we will run into each other some day! If you have any other questions feel free to ask away.
I got my memo for Commissioning today! 1st LT! So it was nearly one month exactly from when I heard from selection. Have you heard yet RN.Mima or msnapper??
Congratulations!!! I am so excited for you, Ma'am! Have no heard anything yet. Hopefully, I will hear soon and we will be in DCC and BOLC together.

What do you mean voluntary weeks working in-between? Is that just for AD or everyone?
I would like to correct myself a little here. I misspoke when I said "most will do a few voluntary weeks". In actuality this only happens to one DCC class per year. So, basically there are 2 classes per year that end up having 3 weeks between DCC and BOLC and because technically Ft Sill is responsible for you until you go to BOLC and BOLC will not allow you to report early you end up stuck at Ft Sill for 3 weeks and you have to report to the hospital there every morning for PT and whatever odd jobs they have available for you to do. From what I heard from everyone it was a total waste of time. I was able to work out a deal between my company command at JBSA and the company commander at DCC to let me report back to JBSA for those 3 weeks since I had already PCS'd down here. That was a headache all its own. The company commander for DCC did approve people to go 10 days in the hole on leave if they chose to do so, so you could knock it down to 11 days stuck at Ft Sill instead of the 21 but that's not a guarantee for all classes. Also, if you already have leave built up you can choose to use it to go home in between. The other class that has the 3 week break is over a holiday and they were allowed to go home. Also, many National Guard members/Reservists went back to their units because they either were not going to the next BOLC class for one reason or another or because they were going to the BOLC short course. This is completely up to your unit. I hope this makes sense.

I think they run consecutively, and you should have a couple of days between DCC and BOLC to travel from Fort Sill to Fort Sam.
