Hello, All! My packet for 66P AD packet is almost complete and will be submitted for the October Board, fingers crossed. Anyone else waiting for this board? How has your whole process been? Anyone who has previously undergone this experience is more than welcome to give input! Thanks!

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me, or I can respond here. There aren't too many direct commissions so I found that getting the right info was a bit tricky at times.
Cheers!
TB,
I just finished MEPS as a 66S!! I'm excited to see a RECENT post from someone with the same job type... I am really antsy since I have a husband two kids and pets, so I'm trying to plan for a timeline but I know that's difficult. Did it take so long between your board to bolc because you were reserve? I'm coming in as active.
My amedd recruiter tells me the board is april 16th, and that there is a BOLC date for sept so he thinks that's when I'll go. Is that realistic or would it take longer you think?
thanks so much for any help!
Good luck to you too!
I don't remember what day exactly that it was sent but I continually asked him if I was gunna be too late and he always said no. I finished the actual DCA packet a while ago but things like my Csection records and recommendation letters I turned in this past month.
Excited, anxious, and nervous right there with you!
I'm hoping things move faster for active applicants.

Actually, I am Active Duty. And my recruiter and I also got my packet submitted super quick to make the earlier boards of the fiscal year. And I kept getting mixed info from my recruiter and the Internet. I assumed I would submit my packet by December, get notified if I was accepted or not in a month, then hopefully go to DCC/BOLC in March. Well unfortunately that’s not the case for *most* people. In fact, talking with other direct commissions, my packet went thru way quicker than most.
I was notified of my acceptance in January 2018. And an officer from San Antonio called me at some point shortly after and said I probably wouldn’t actually go to training until September, for this reason and that reason on and on. There is a reason that “hurry up and wait” is an Army mantra.
What you can do on your end is make sure your packet is complete and fix and discrepancies as quickly as possible. Read every word of your contract. Swear in as soon as you can once you’re accepted so that you can get the ball rolling on getting your orders ASAP.

Hello! How long did it take you to get the phone call after you signed your oath and contract? It's been about 2 weeks for me and my employers are breathing down my neck about when I'm officially leaving. I'm really hoping I don't have to wait long for my training date!

Hello, Shaycb7! Fingers crossed for you on this upcoming board but I think you will be selected!

It’s not the phone call that you want it’s your orders. The phone call was just like a courtesy “welcome to the team” call. I got my orders in my personal email a little over a month before my DCC starting date. So that’s enogh notice for your employers.
To give you a good estimate of when you’d go to DCC, go to this site: https://sill-www.army.mil/30ADA/AMEDD_DCC.html
under “admin info” at the bottom, you’ll see all the class dates. Looks like the next one for Active Duty is 10 June. Which means you’d be on the same timeline I was. DCC 10 June to 8 July then BOLC from 10 July to 14 September. I would expect your orders to come this month hopefully!

Thank you for the prompt response! Yeah, I definitely know I need the black and white (if it isn't documented, it isn't done! ? ), but I have a 3 year old so the phone call would be helpful for planning!
Thanks for the link! I've already scoured the DCC website and created a document checklist. Seems I will need a file cabinet! I'm hoping my orders come through this month as well!
How are you liking Tripler? Are you enjoying Active Duty?
