Hello, All! My packet for 66P AD packet is almost complete and will be submitted for the October Board, fingers crossed. Anyone else waiting for this board? How has your whole process been? Anyone who has previously undergone this experience is more than welcome to give input! Thanks!

Did your recruiter get your package sent up already. Mine had to be in by March 19 to make the April 16 board. I’m excited, anxious, nervous etc Mine is in as a 66P FNP. Good luck to you!!

Hello Shaycb7,

My packet also went up for board selection April 16 too. (66E) Just waiting to hear back. My recruiter said, results normally takes around 2 weeks.

Awesome! Let me know when you hear something. Good luck!!!

Mine said it takes a month... But I have a sneaking suspicion it's because he wants extra time in case he missed the board date. He's been very unorganized and unprepared during this whole process...He's STILL asking me to sign forms! When did everyone sign the final form "Application for Appointment" DA form 61?... He asked me to sign it today O.o

I think I signed that as they submitted my paperwork. The navy recruiter I worked with was so awful. It was so frustrating so I can definitely empathize with you there. Hopefully that’s something they can submit after the board meets too.

I'm so confused! one minute they tell me the board meets on april 16th and then they say well no, that's actually OUR deadline to submit paperwork to our higher-up, and the board meets the NEXT week. I'm like.... uh... okay. I feel like they missed the deadline and don't want to tell me. /facepalm

So yeah the recruiters have a date to submit everything so it’ll get approved to go to the board. This helps prevent submitting incomplete packets. Hopefully that’s the case for you.

i hope so, I just remember everyone talking about the april 16th board :x at least the board dates are close together so I won't have to wait too long if I go to the next one. *sigh* What a process

Thank you for the prompt response! Yeah, I definitely know I need the black and white (if it isn't documented, it isn't done! ? ), but I have a 3 year old so the phone call would be helpful for planning!

Thanks for the link! I've already scoured the DCC website and created a document checklist. Seems I will need a file cabinet! I'm hoping my orders come through this month as well!

How are you liking Tripler? Are you enjoying Active Duty?

Tripler is great! Love Hawaii and the Army ICU nurses I’ve met are awesome. Very knowledgeable and really care about their career and their patients. My OIC/NCOICs also really care about us and work hard to get us the opportunity to do “Army” stuff like Air Assault and JECC. I unfortunately tore my ACL on a hike out here and have been recovering from surgery and all that so I feel like I haven’t been able to do much yet that’s very different from being a regular civilian ICU nurse. But so far, it has been a great experience.

I'm sorry to hear about your injury! I fractured my foot a few years ago and I know what it is like to be sidelined especially if you're an active person. I'm glad you're enjoying Tripler! I've heard great things about the post! I also heard the roads suck and to make sure nothing is left in your car. It's great you will have the opportunity to go to schools. I have always wanted to go to either Airborne or Air Assault at least.

So, I'm just echoing what was already mentioned, but the first deadline is for the paperwork to be submitted. It has to go through levels of quality checks before it reaches the board. If there are things missing or that need to be corrected when it reaches the board, your packet will be bounced back so the time gap is to allow for adequate review. I know it's frustrating, but I'm crossing my fingers for you all.

Update: my recruiters did miss the deadline but I was not informed so yes, Now I'm waiting for May board on the 14th -_- Which would have been fine if they had just told me! Instead of letting me think I was still good for april. Since I got married but didn't change my name yet that caused some delay because someone on the sex offender list had a maiden name that matches mine, blah blah blah, which was irrelevant since her married name is not my husband's! Anyway. More waiting! Hoping my scroll doesn't take until the end of the year x.x
