April 2008 NCLEX test takers, COME ON IN!

Per the request of janina08 ;) I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :) :nurse:

I'll post some math formula's here: I know you all are aware of it, just for quick glance and revise:

IV flow rate:

1)

Flow rate in gtt/min=Total vol in (mL)xDrip factor(gtt/ml)/Time in min

So: gtt/min = ml x (gtt/ml) / minutes

Make sure to pay attention if the question is asking for the time or gtt/minute. and make sure to pay attention if the time is being asked in HOUR instead of minute.

2) Medication / dose

med/dose = desired dose x ml/available dose

3) Infusion rate (ml/hour)

Infusion rate = (dose/hr desired)/(concentration/ml)

concentraion/ml = known amount of med/ total volume of diluent (ml)

Pay attention to ur mcg and mg

Know what rounding to nearest tenth or one decimal place, whole number etc.

1 teaspoon = 5 ml

1 tablespoon = 15 ml

1 ounce = 30 ml

1 cup of fluid = 8 ounce, so (8x30 = 240 mL)

Now, I'm not sure if I got that gtt/min question right or wrong :l

Yeah Pearsonvue posts it too. Well the pearsonvue employee said u can check it within two days by paying extra money. How many days does the BON take to post the resulsts usually?

Well, I took my PN on a Thursday, no results Friday, then came the weekend and nothing on Monday! Finally, Tuesday the results came in. But, on the average, my classmates find out within 48 hours.

Thank you so much, MomenTs. :icon_hug: You are going to make a terrific nurse. :) I'm just scared because everytime I take a stupid practice exam, most of the time I get in the 50% range. I'm so scared that won't be enough. :( I want to pass it the first time and be done with it!

Thankyou :). keeping my fingers crossed. I want to see great results also :). Mave, don't do in exam mode. Now these last few days, do study mode and if you are doing SAUNDERS, pay attention why and how you are chosing the answer you are chosing. Even if you get the answer right, read the strategy to see if you were thinking along what the strategy said. Just practice doing questions in study mode. Coz exam mode, you are freaking urself out. U don't need that right now. I don't even know how mucH I scored before going to sit for the exam coz all along I was doing in study mode. Kaplan pratice was a killer! Even after knowing the information I was getting the answers wrong left and right :no: Good luckkkkkkkkkkk, lots of it.

thanks moments .....thanks a lot ..........the last 2 days its terribly freaking me out a lot.........felt like rescheduling d test ...i dont know i couldnt evn tell i have a 15 wk old baby ......some times i couldnt even concentrate 2 meet his needs ...........and have a guilty feeling of not really paying the attention ...you know wht this is d best time 2 spend more with d child ..i couldnt clouldnt ......and evn couldnt enjoy his playing.........thank u dear .....4 ur information.....whn u replied me its a feeling like somebody is really caring evnif we dnt knweach other ,,,,,,dont worry my prayers r thr with u........gud luuck!!!!!!!hope for d best

hey guys i just want to say that i passed!! im so happy!! i just checked the website 2 minutes ago and im still shaking!! this has to be the best feeling in the world.. its like the whole world is off my shoulders :) and to everyone whos about to take it, god bless! u can do all things thru christ!

I PASSED! I PASSED! I PASSED! I just checked the Florida Board of Nursing and I saw my name and my license number! Praise be to GOD I am an official LPN and now I am on to my RN!

I woke up this morning and check pearsonvue at 7 am and my results were not there. I waited until nine and YES there they are...

...so nervous...

...wrong credit card number... dang! I can't even type correctly...

grade: pass
