Per the request of janina08 I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :)
Can anyone PLEASE help me understand when you put a warm compress versus a cold compress.... I don't understand the difference with warm and cold comfort measures...EX: Cellulitis... I assumed because of the "itis" that it is some type of inflammation.... and with inflamation comes warmth of that area... so I assumed that you place a cold compress... but I was WRONG! You place a warm compress....
Can anyone ENLIGHTEN me... I am testing in 28 days
:scrying:
I haven't looked far enough to see if this was answered...but put yourself in the situation.
Ex: When you put heat on your body (like a heating pad...or even a hot tub) it helps alleviate muscle pain or relaxes the muslces. Now, on the other hand...when you think of big football players wtih huge ice bags it's to decress gnarly inflammation from bad falls that probably tore or broke something.
I would just use that as a general rule for everything. Oddly, sometimes treatement requires the use of hot and cold (ex. RA and Gout). Although, the "heat" is usually suggested in the form of a warm shower...and not so much a heating pad.
But, another rule of thumb (Thank you to my Freshman year of HS Health teacher): RICE
Rest...Ice...Compression...Elevation
*Pretty much think of this anytime there is a sport/athletic injury affecting muscles or other tissues.
Hope this helps!
I know that you can check your test results on Pearson but can anyone get their results before the two business days.Thanks.
I've seen some people here who HAVE gotten their results before the 48-hour waiting period. Try to check your BON website. Goodl luck, hon!

Hi everybody,
Took my NCLEX this mornig. This has been without a boubt the craziest test I have taken in my entire life. The computer shut off around question 100 (I don't know for sure, I wasn't payng attention after q75).
I had 12 SATA's.
A lot of meds that I never herad about. 6 maths and a lot of peds. There were some endochrine, but not as much as I was expecting.
Honestly, I don't know how I did. I am confident that I did OK since I've got the last question right (that is a good sign, isn't it?)
Well anyways, I am happy this is over but now is the waiting game that SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUCK!!!!
Thanks for your support guys (really, THANK YOU) and good luck for all of you still pending.
I will keep you posted once I finfd if I passed.
