April 2008 NCLEX test takers, COME ON IN!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Per the request of janina08 ;) I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :) :nurse:

Hey everyone. I scheduled my test not too long ago for the end of April. I'm super nervous already! At this point, I do not think I'm ready, so if I still feel that way near my testing date, I may reschedule.

I just feel so overwhelmed by everything that I need to look over. I have been doing practice exams, but have not been scoring as well as I should. :/

Oh, and I haven't told anyone about my test date in fear of them getting on my case and stuff like that. Let's see how long I can keep the cat in the bag. lol

Maudy I know how you feel! I told my husband that I am going to a conference on April 14th, so I will be gone all day...........I know its not good to lie but I just don't want the pressure like last time..............

Good Luck on your exam... YOU WILL PASS:D

Hi Mave and rest of April testtakers,

I passed the NCLEX RN...!!!!!....Had 75 questions..

I had a lot infection control..1 med calculation and 4-5 easy meds , teaching and priority questions..I preponed my test to March29...(coz its a saturday!!!)

I must mention I had atleast 12-15 questions which were SATA!!!!!

I did the Suzanne plan and read from PDA ,Saunders,

and 250 newformat questions..

My advice to future testakers would be do CONTENT!!! first and foremost see that you know the content then solve questions...dont leave any doubts regarding any specific topic:nono: rather use resources like the internet and other search engines!!!! I used the searchbox of allnurses alot for doubts!! believe me its very helpful!! Goodluck to y'all:up:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!I'm soooo happy for you newRN:nurse:....

Just a couple days away and the nerves are gettin a little out of control. Staying on tums to keep stomach acid level down.

* Need any kind of acronym for Addison / Cushings. And the Thyroid disorders. I know them but seem to choke when under pressure. I use the acronyms alot.

Anyone?

Im new to this site. I take my NCLEX PN for the first time April 11th. I have scheduled and rescheduled several times, but this is the last time... Hopefully. If I could just pass it on the first try, that would be great. I don't think I can stomach taking this more than once! Every since I scheduled it this last time, I havent been able to get to sleep earlier than 3 or 4 AM. Added stress is knowing that every other person in my class has passed. I'm the ONLY person who hasn't taken it. I know I shouldn't concentrate on that stuff, but its sooo hard to ignore. I just want to get it over with. I finished school last August and I feel like I dont know anything. I've studied, but I dont think it helps. I just dont want to fail this. OK my rant is over.

congratulations.... i am so happy for you! the rest of us will follow suit! all april test takers will pass! we have to believe it and god will see us through! :nuke:

All of us feel the same way hun, one day or the other day. Some day I feel like on top of the world, and then there are days when I feel down in dumps ... reading the posts here, prayer ... is helping me to carry on. Good luck

Last week, I almost lost it. I was over exhausted (correct word). I was giggling like anything and everything like a mad person ... I was losing it. It's crazy! I took chichi and everyone else's advise and just tried to forget everything. I'm back today again rested. I almost felt like I was going to pass out and felt kind of sick. I'm glad, I did whatever I did to get rid of that accumulated stress.

Thank you to all for your wonderful advises.

And the fontanel one, I think u guys are correct, I dont' have my book with me. But I think it's correct. If I come across it, I'll post it again to reconfirm it.

About acid-base balances, When it comes to compensated and partiall compensated it has to do with the PH correct? If the PH is within normal range, it's compensated? What about partially compensated.

----------------

I want to specially thank you Chichi. I was trying to understand those rounding to 10, one, 1000 ... everytime, I'd post my guesses, and u'd come and correct it for me. That was really cute and nice of you. I'd come and find my guess was totally off than what you had for answer, so I'd go back and look at it again and lo and behold, I'd got it wrong ... I'd go and see what was wrong ... it was very helpfulf for me. Thank you again.

Thank you to all of you guys. You guys are amazing.
