Nursing Students NCLEX

Per the request of janina08 ;) I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :) :nurse:

"what reflex in a baby would you report to the Dr." I was going through the posts here and I came across that question and I didn't remember the answer. Do you guys know? What is the answer? thanks

babinski reflex is positive in babies. What other reflexes are there in neonatals and infants.

moro reflex? "Flexion of an infant's thighs and knees, fanning and then crenching of fingers with arms first thrown outward and then brought together as though embracing something produced by a sudden stimulus such as striking the table on either side of the child and seen normally in the newborn."

Taken from Miller Keane medical encycopedia and dictionary.

for the visual learners:

actually in relation to moments question, ud report to the doctor if the reflex is not seen or if the baby still has it longer than he should..

for example: The Babinski response is present until about 4 to 6 months of age (normally present in 10% of 6 month olds), and disappears completely by 9 to 12 months. and that is still present after that period then there is some neurologic problems that need to be assessed..

Thank you guys.

Fontanels ...

I'll test you guys.

Age period when the anterior fontanel closes/should close in babies

Age period when the posterior fontanel closes/should close in babies
