What abou FAT EMBOLISM? What position would you place your patient in, if you suspect they have fat embolism.

A/C to book, it's HIGH FOWLER's? Why HIGH fowler's? Anybody know?

-----

Q) 2. Why would someone with EDEMA take less time to CLOT?

Q) 3. In ANEMIA you see ELEVATED POTASSIUM. Why is that? What is the corelation?

Q) 4. Abou lab values. If any of you have the latest SAUNDER'S book, please check the value for serum POTASSIUM. What does it say? Is it 3.5-5.1 ?

I have the blue book and it tells me 3.5 - 5.1. Now the confusion is: Kaplan strategy book considers 3.5-5.5 as normal Serum POTASSIUM value (if I'm remember correct), while Saunder considers 5.5 as elevated. NOW, Which is the correct one for NCLEX? :banghead:

Thank u guys for taking tie to read and reply. It's helping. Good luck to us all

i say high fowlers too to prevent the clot from getting in the lung.. and if its already in the lung to help with airway and breathing as high fowlers is the best position for that..

the questions about edema and anemia im not sure as well and would like to know the answer..

moments.. ive read ur post on faiths page about passing and i couldnt help but notice that u really are stressing about the test and are very anxious..

well i just want to share this with you, i too have been in ur situation a few weeks ago, i was so stressed and i was trying to jam every information in my head and i got terrible scores in kaplan qbank (i was getting only 40%) and then i talked to my aunt (which is a very successful nurse and also my #1 mentor) and she told me that what i was doing wasnt healthy and she MADE me quit studying for alteast 3 days.. it was hard for me to say yes to this coz i felt like i really had to study but i listened to her and went to stay with my boyfriend for 3 days and didnt even think about the test, and after that believe it or not my scores really improved (getting high 50-high 60) and im less anxious and more confident.. im not saying u should take my advise but please consider it coz i know what ur going thru and it sucks.. and bein anxious really affects how u study and how u feel about urself

this goes to everyone whos on the same boat too :nuke:

we can do this guys i just know we can :icon_hug::icon_hug::icon_hug:

ive just read somewhere that u put pts in high fowler in these cases because there is less venous return to the heart thus less pulmonary congestion.. i think that is the answer to ur question :wink2:

I was applying maslow's. Did I read and interpreted the question completely wrong? thanks

Moments,i think we're on the same boat... i would have picked safety too...but then when I read the book, it seemed that the answer would be leaning to visual stimulation...and yet, i would still want to pick safety... if you know what i mean... LOL! aaarrrgggggghhh..this is confusing... :chuckle
