4 more days before APRIL guys!!! we can do this!!! :whe!:
AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Oh, please, PLEASE don't remind me!!
Is my name on the list yet for April 3rd...?:stone
:stone
I'll try to add everyone who wants to be added to the list later. :) Just please PM me and I'll add you.
I had a HORRIBLE day at work today, guys. I had a pt code on me today. I was definitely NOT prepared for that. My adrenaline was pumping and I was shaking, and I knew what to do, but I just kind of froze in place!! It's one of the most stressful things ever.
So, because of that, please don't think I'm being lazy, guys. I promise I will post the rest of the cardiac information tomorrow night. I am exhausted right now and I just need to reflect on what happened today. I apologize if I'm keeping everyone from moving on, but I'll do my best (THAT'S A PROMISE!) to post the rest of the stuff tomorrow. :)

Moments, I would focus on safety since she is consfused with an unsteady gait.... after safety issues have been resolved then you can worry about other issues.....
I would only go back to read content if there is a section that I am COMPLETELY CLUELESS ON! Otherwise, I would focus on questions, rationales and strategies.....
I am so tired of studying, I just want a vacation and a new pair of shoes!
Your colourful replies definitely was a treat on a hectic day guys. Thank you much.Thank you to everyone who answered to med question. It did help. God bless.-----------------------------Qusetion:Fat embolism: complication of Fracture (femur) - What is the desired POSITION, when you suspect a fat emblism in a client? Please answer with your rationale. Thanks. My answer and reasoning: Left side lying - Rationale: to prevent it from getting to the lungs (We definitely do this positionf or air embolism) I am most probably thinking totally off.Books answer: High fowlerWhy would you place someone with fat embolism on HIGH Fowler's position? Someoen pelase shed a light.--------------------Next question: I have reworded it.Elderly client admitted to nursing home. She is occasionally confused and her gait is unsteady often. What action should you take? Now based on the above information, what intervetion would you as RN focus on?A) Answer that focuses on stimulatin the client's sensory (mental/visual stiumlation)ORB) Answer that focuses on an intervention preventing fall and injury? Please post your reply and the reason u picked the particular answer.Thanks.P. 195 - 43 Kaplan Strategy Book.I still need to go thru ur med notes Genny. I am tempted to read the content , I should just focus on questions right?

Books answer: High fowler

I have reworded it.
Elderly client admitted to nursing home. She is occasionally confused and her gait is unsteady often. What action should you take?
Now based on the above information, what intervetion would you as RN focus on?
A) Answer that focuses on stimulatin the client's sensory (mental/visual stiumlation)
OR
B) Answer that focuses on an intervention preventing fall and injury?
Please post your reply and the reason u picked the particular answer.
Thanks.

My Dear MomentS
I went over to that question, YES the correct answer is visual stimulation, considering the client is elderly so basically decreased visual acuity and besides it is the only option that has appropriate intervention.
The other option talks about to encourage ambulation at the hallway which is unsafe to to a patient who has unsteady gait and confusion so definitely this is wrong answer.
But if the options are sensory stimulation vs. prevention of fall and injury, i would go for the 2nd option which is safety.:sstrs::an!:

Mave, just take your time.... and relax! I know how it is to be in a code situation! It is very stressful, so just take time for yourself to recoup! you will be fine. :nuke:

I would pick B, the one that focuses on preventing falls ad injury...
SAFETY FIRST..the stem states that the client's gait is unsteady, so focus is on safety from falls.
i checked the book the answer is focused on the visual stimulation...maybe because the connection between the stem and the choices, the answer regarding safety would be inapplicable since the client has unsteady gait and is confused...
i want everyone in this april group to pass with flying colors:weathersunsmall::weathersunsmall:
