Applying to UCLA MECN to start Fall 2015?

Published

Hi! Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program? Last year I applied and wasn't accepted. I believe they accepted around 12%. They had 70 spaces down from 90 the previous year.

Good luck on your interview! I'll see you on the CSULA ABSN thread!

Am I the only one that still hasn't heard back?? :/

lrahm16 Good luck! YOu will do great :) Look at it on the bright side: UCLA might have missed out on your passion for nursing, but this interview is an opportunity for you to SHOW it. Smile and speak from the heart! Blessings :)

Hey everyone! wishing everyone the best of luck !! I'm currently on the waitlist too at #30.... praying to God that a lot of people decide to commit to other schools hahah :D

So... I'm on the waitlist. A very low number, but waitlist nonetheless.

I know that universities consider enrollment yields when offering admissions- I think typically a university will admit more people than they anticipate having in their cohort, expecting that not all accepted will matriculate.

This year's is the smallest MECN cohort size to date (website says 50 admitted, whereas in the past cohort sizes were 60, 70, or 90), and I'm just wondering if anyone knows just how many people the SON accepts. Do they accept no more than 50, and use the waitlist for those of the original 50 accepted who turn it down? Or, might they admit 70 or so, because they know that not all 70 will accept?

Anyone who attended an info session, or any current MECNs know the answer to this?

I'm really excited but also kind of anxious!!! And I'll be sure to update you all when (or if!) the waitlist starts moving and I do get in. (:

Fifty admits? Wow that number was 70 on that same webpage when the application process began. I really hope they are sticking with 70 spots for this current class.

@tatumollusk. I believe someone called and said they were accepting 70, even though the website at that point said 50. you can call to check. the male admissions counselor has been answering his phone, but the female one has not been answering emails at all.

Info session in September said they would accept 70

Phew! That reduction in class size must be for the Fall 2016 entering class.

Aah, that must be it. Thanks!
