  1. It is my understanding that interviews are done now but I don't know that for certain.
  2. Hmmm could you clarify, are they contacting 200 people for a speed screening for PICU? I asked her today how many people are doing the speed screening and she said "about 30." 200 seems very high for one unit, right? Although its a very popular unit to apply to so maybe it really is that high.
  3. I have some friends who got calls tonight offering in person speed interviews for PICU next week.
  4. Congrats on your interview offer! Writing portion isn't that bad. You are timed and you complete it in a separate room. It's not anything you need to prepare for. She specifically said that we should not tell other students what the topic is so I'll leave it at that! Don't worry about it, though.
  5. I think R is just giving us a heads up email because the graduate division website isn't sending out the acceptances as fast as they should or something. That explains why some peoples portals haven't been updated, myself included.
  6. hey! That's what my email said too. It's my understanding that we have been admitted to the program. My email said: "It is a pleasure to inform you that the School of Nursing has recommended to the Graduate Division of UCLA that you be admitted to the Master's Entry Clinical Nursing Program beginning Fall Quarter, 2016. Please be advised that FINALadmission decisions are made by the UCLA Graduate Division. You should receive the OFFICIAL notification from the UCLA Graduate Divisions within 2 – 3 weeks" my understanding is that this means the nursing program has accepted us and wants us but the graduate division technically needs to approve it, and why wouldn't they? Every school does this where you get accepted into the program but then "final acceptance" comes from the university. It's a formality. If someone lied about their transcripts or something and they didn't really have a bachelors then the university would turn them down. Otherwise why would they override the nursing programs decision, ya know? do folks agree with my understanding of this?
  7. Not sure about the cost. In fact, the cost for the whole program is a little confusing to me if anyone could illuminate me on that one. Is it like $48,000 for the first year only? Does that include predicted housing costs? If you take epi somewhere other than UCLA just make sure they accept it!
  8. Hi there! I was accepted to the MECN program for Fall 2016 and I was wondering if there are any current students who would be available to answer some questions about how you like the program either here or in a private message. Thanks!
  9. Hello! I was accepted to UCLA's MECN program for Fall 2016 today and I am hoping I could ask some questions to current students. Is anyone down to answer some questions either here or in a private message? Thanks y'all!
  10. I did EAOD on the 11th but will not be accepting the offer because I just found out I got into UCLA. So thats one more spot open for interviewers! I'm sure there may be more depending on where people get in and what they want. Keep your head up!
  11. Just got an email from R and was accepted also, pretty stoked! In an attachment to the email it said that I still need to take the epidemiology class and that enrollment is guaranteed if you have been accepted into the program. I did not get the impression that that was the case for other classes people might need (anatomy etc). Basically every MECN student probably still has to take Epi so they guarantee we will get into that class.
  12. I also haven't heard anything yet this year. Very different from last years rollout of information. Good luck everyone!
  13. Hey guys! I'll be interviewing early March. 1 out of 3 doesn't sound too bad!
