  1. Thank you to those who reached out, I really appreciate the support. @Luv4God, thank you for your apology- it means a lot. I totally understand how stressful this process is and it is really frustrating that the admissions department doesn't just send out status emails all at once. It does not make any sense. I was surprised to hear back so early, but I think it may have been because I would've been coming from Boston and I had reached out to an admissions representative a few months ago asking about the status of my application since I would have to coordinate such a big move. Like I said I am of course disappointed as this was my top choice but everything happens for a reason and this decision will not derail my goals of becoming a nurse. I know that we have a great group of applicants here and I sincerely wish every one of you the best and I really do hope you are all accepted into the program!
  2. Wait- those who were accepted early are "allowed" to post about that but because I was denied I am supposed to be quiet? That doesn't make sense. I started this thread looking for people for support through the application process and because I was denied I can't get that support anymore? It's not depressing story, its a reality. I'm sorry you feel personally affected by my denial from the university.
  3. Hey guys, I heard last week and was denied admission. Still pretty bummed about it, but I suppose everything must happen for a reason. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted or waitlisted and good luck in the program!
  4. Has anyone received any application updates?
  5. Wow your stats sound great. What do you mean you submitted the wrong statement? I think you have a great chance of getting in!
  6. It would be really nice to know now!!! I am so anxious. I wish I knew how many people applied, etc. Good luck to everyone :)
  7. I wanted to share my stats and see if anyone else was in the same boat/if anyone who is in the program now had similar stats. Also does anyone know how the epidemiology class works? When that starts, etc? I would be moving there from Boston so I am just curious when I would have to plan to more in order to take the class. My stats are a 3.3GPA Undergrad, Three A's and Two B's in my prereqs. I currently work as a CNA and I have some volunteer experience. The rep from UCLA said my application looked great, but I still feel nervous!!
  8. Thanks to everyone who got back to me! I just saw these comments now. I thought the website would've notified me via email when someone commented so I apologize for the delay. I have completed all but one pre-req. Right now my grades are two A-, and one B+ (for the science pre-reqs). The other ones like psychology and statistics are mostly A's and B's. I have one C+ in stats though I have been talking with one of the counselors and he said that one C+ shouldn't hurt my application, but I am still unsure. I also have some internship experience in a psychiatry clinic, and I am currently working at McLean Hospital, a psychiatric hospital. I have a short-term lab position on my resume, but I am gonna try to get some volunteer experience and/or lab experience before applying as well to beef up my application. I am so nervous my experience and grades aren't going to be enough. I am from Boston and I am actually flying in next week to meet with some advisers and discuss my application. I couldn't make it on one of the info session days which I was bummed about but I am making it work nonetheless. How about you guys!
  9. Hey there, I am planning on applying to the UCLA MECN 2016 program and was wondering if anyone else out there was applying as well. Just curious about other applicants and hoping to go through this application process with some other people! Would love any feedback. Thanks :)
