Hi,
I studied Saunders book with CD. Mainly the 5000 question bank and studied the rationale. I also used Kaplan and found the Kaplan question design to be similar to NCLEX. Also when answering, I tried to pay attention to ABCs and Maslow's Heirarchy when answering questions and this seemed to pave the way to udnerstanding.
Good luck

hi,
I took the NCLEX review, but skipped most of it. Honestly DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. It was not in the least bit helpful. I would recomend doing Saunders CD and going under the category of "client Needs" that section is based on teh NCLEX test plan. Good Luck.

Nope never took a NCLEX review course (couldn't afford it) But what I did do was study everything I could get my hands on...
All the ATI books, I had a bunch of review books too.. and all those CD-ROM's in the back of the review books help loads too!!!!!!

Another vote for Saunders CD. After buying several review books, I ended up using Saunders the most, but also bought the Kaplan book. Those were the only two worth the money. Good luck, I just found out today that I passed, so it can be done without doing a review class.

Our school gave us a Meds Pub review... and I went to that, but I didn't take a review I had to pay for.... I just did about 100 practice questions per day for about a month... passed with 75 quetions.

i studied on my own with the kaplan book and saunders. i passed the first time. you have to be disciplined and focused. set aside at least 3 hours every day just to do questions with your cd-rom and then review. most importantly stay positive. you will pass.
good luck

I did not take any review classes. I did tons of questions from NCLEX books. I tried to focus on the books that came with CD-ROMS. I passed 1st time, 75 questions, so obviously I was glad to not have spent the money on a class.

I did not take a review class. Used Saunders 3rd edition, Kaplan and Exam cram. Passed with 75 questions last week :)

Congratulations on graduating!
I qualified in 1987 as an RN in the UK and had a seven year break from nursing before being given the go ahead by the state BoN to take the NCLEX.
I also studied the Saunders Review and a Kaplan book on how to pass the NCLEX at home alone for about three months - I passed at 75 questions. The Maslow and ABC really helped - in addition, I found it was possible to eliminate the wrong answers, even if I didn't know a great deal about the question matter, and make an educated "guess"...
However, everyone else I've met in the US who has recently graduated enrolled on the whole Kaplan course. The new grads were able to get the course fees paid by their employer once they signed on the dotted line.
Good luck!

No review course for me and passed the first time. All I studied from was from my nursing school books, nothing special. Good luck!

I used Exam Cram and did all of the questions. Also had a few Kaplan questions from the internet and Saunders. Do the questions from the CD and find the rationale for what you miss. The NCLEX is passable using Maslow, ABC's, and a good dose of common sense. I also passed in 75 questions. You will be fine!!!!!!
