I start nursing school in August. I am going crazy sitting around waiting for school to start. I didn't take any summer classes and now I wish I did. I don't have a job and find myself wondering around the house all day or sitting at the computer reading allnurses. Anyone else going nuts waiting for August?
Ya'll better get all the sleep you can get. Contact a couple of teachers and try to get your books early and start reading. Or improve your reading ability: Read anything for 3 hours a day and improve your reading speed/retention. I am going crazy waiting for my senior year to strat, but I have a few books. Just wish they offered a class this summer.
I hear ya goofy! Everything you said is so true! I'm also a senior this fall. I took classes towards my bachelor's just so I could keep up the momentum of NS. I am happy I did although quite envious of those laying in the sun (my day will come...lol).
Good luck to all of you! Your life is about to change so enjoy what's left of this one.
No, I am going crazy trying to keep up with the 4 summer classes I am currently taking:D!
I am REALLY looking forward to the two weeks I'll have off before nursing classes start at the end of August. I am excited to get started, but those classes will be here (slapping us around) before we know it.
Good luck all, and enjoy the summer:chuckle.
Becareful what you ask for. Nursing school is going 2 drive you crazy and you are going to wish you had that break. This is what you will look like in your 1st semester, because it can get overwhelming . Find some other books to read or find a hobby to do, because once you start nursing school you are going to thank god for those breaks. I have 6 more months before I am finish and believe me I ENJOY MY TIME OFF. This is me on break:yeah:
. Good luck in school!!!
Good afternoon! Since you live in Michigan I thought I would contact you. I have been accepted to Nursing School, but the start date will probably be Fall 2009 since there is a long waitlist. I am done with pre-reqs, so I am just waiting around. I really would love to find a job within a hospital system around the Detroit area. Do I need to get my CNA or do you know any places that will train on the job. I am so eager and excited and feel that experience will give me the edge on need before starting my program. If you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it...thanks!
I start NS on August 21st. I am so excited that I even made it in:yeah: I worked so hard. The wait is killing me too! I know that I will want my breaks but for now its hard. Our school has been keeping us busy with numerous things to so as well. Fingerprinting, background checks, physical, ordering shirts, scrubs, lab coats, name pins, etc. They also offer a nursing prep class, which I started last week. It goes over cpr, skills check offs, dosage clac, and some fundamentals. It's kinda nice and I was surprised that more people didn't take advantage of this course. Its only 3 days a week for 2 hrs. When everyone else is stressing trying to scheldule skills check offs that they havent been over in monthes or longer, we will already have that done. This class is helping the time go by, and I feel like im getting a bit of a head start. I am also trying to get my house as clean as possible so once I start school I will only have to do upkeep. GOOD LUCK to all who are going in and happy waiting!!!!

Those of you with children, just take these next few weeks and relax and have fun with them. You have the next couple of years to be stressing out about school. Put all the books away and go out and have fun!! (Coming from someone who is getting ready for her last semsester....)
