Anyone else going crazy waiting for nursing school to begin?

I start nursing school in August. I am going crazy sitting around waiting for school to start. I didn't take any summer classes and now I wish I did. I don't have a job and find myself wondering around the house all day or sitting at the computer reading allnurses. Anyone else going nuts waiting for August?

I am also anxiously awaiting the start of classes, which for me is August 26th. I have taken two summer courses, just finished the first, and am half way through Statistics now.

I cannot wait! I have started buying my books, uniforms are bought, as are most of my supplies. I can't wait til we get our nursing totes in Lab, so I can see what other goodies we get to play with.

It seems so far away, but I know it will be here before I know it! :yeah:

I bought my littman classic II SE today, and a few extra goodies. Next week I will go buy my *ALL* white embroidered scrubs. I ordered the Kathrine Hagel (sp) lab coat today. I have to go at the end of the month for my last Hep B, and my drug screen is on Aug 13. I also still need to order a couple of books, and buy some shoes to go with the scrubs.

I am excited, scared, nervous and ready to go all at once.

What company did your order you lab coat through?

Yes, I am in Texas. We have to take the drug test about 2 weeks before the start of school.

Its a company in Rowlett Texas called ACG medical. I believe online they are called durable medical supplies, but I am not sure as I went to their actual store. They had a ton of her scrubs (all very cute). Of course my scrubs have to be all white so I couldn't buy any KH scrubs, but I will cute in my lab coat. Its really nice with a pleated front, and a belted back. It looks much more feminine than the unisex coat.

hi there** i'm new to this**but i know where u are coming from!! i start nursing school in oct. and i decided not to take any summer class. i do work full -time has a cna at a ten bed hospice home till then!!can't wait to start !!

All I know is that I'm TOTALLY enjoying my summer break!!! Even though I'm ready to be done (have 2 semesters left), I am dreading when school starts up again and it'll be crazy insane! So enjoy your free time... because you won't have much of it once school starts!

I'm not going into nursing school, but taking another year of pre-reqs...I start Sept. 22 and I'm going crazy...Part of me can't wait!!! But part of me CAN wait...Because by the time Sept. 22 comes around my baby will almost be a year old (nov. 8) and while I want school to start, while I want to have my degree already I DON'T want to wish her life away...I don't want my baby to grow up...I know she will and I know soon enough I'll have my degree...so I'm just trying to enjoy every single day.

I have a great idea! Why not get the book Fluids & Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy? I promise you, you will be glad you did. You can get it at the library if you don't want to purchase it. Congratz & Good luck!

As a nursing faculty person (peeking in on the student forum), I can assure you, wiser words have rarely been written. That is a great idea.:bow:

I went from being so excited to start school to now being slightly scared and nervous. But I am still excited and grateful to be accepted!I am literally here everyday reading posts to see what I can pick up.

I got my physical, shots, books, part of my uniform. Now waiting for our 'orientation' day. Marking the days off my calendar for when school starts and scared of the long fast journey ahead.

I am so excited, and so anxious to get started. I am an anal planner and the syllabus isn't until until the 18th and orientation isn't until the 19th and it is making me crazy. I just want to have something productive to do, not that being on the boards isn't...you all know!

I am a new person in this all nurses .com world. I am excited for the classes that starts from august. I am in the RN program. I have registered both the lab and lecture hours in SVI at littlerock. I have heard that SVI is kind of strict is it?

Can you please suggest me what's gonna happen in that new world any clue or something??
