I would think its definitely "normal" to feel some apprehension before making any major life changes. I wouldn't really sweat it. You're bettering yourself! Congrats.

I have to agree with some of the other posters here about maternity leave. I'm all for mothers having time off for the baby. However, to give them a year off paid or something like that I think could be trouble. The taxpayers would not take it kindly to having to pay the way for a woman everytime she goes preggers. Women would have a baby just for the year off! Also, it would hurt them in the hiring process definitely. If an employer has a choice between a woman who may get pregnant and want tons of paid time off, or a man who will never have a baby...you can guess which one they will pick...guaranteed.

For ERs, especially fast tracks and urgent cares, often times FNP is preferred so you can treat both adults and pediatrics. The pay ranges significantly based on hospital/location.

Wow, for fun I checked mine and it was about 94.00/yr for RN, and 1,204/yr for NP. Quite a difference!

I can't for the life of me figure out why someone who is planning on attending med school would take nursing as a major. Nursing is notoriously difficult. You can go to med school as a psych/sociology major. The LAST major I'd pick to get into med school is a tough one like nursing. I'd want my gpa to be as high as possible!

No, it's the truth. We learned this in a gender class I took in college. Way back in the day, women who were having mental problems, etc. were stimulated "down there" and it was thought to help make them more cheerful and happier. Yeah, I bet it did .

He'll definitely be cheating on you soon. JK. Things like that can always happen when people are busy/stressed. It may not be romantic, but sometimes you have to actually plan ahead of time for romantic time so that everything can be squared away and people can be prepared.

I know this topic has been discussed before on this site..but, I was curious for an updated response. How many of you would be willing to pay more taxes for universal healthcare? I find it egregious that the US has put a cost on maintaining/saving ones life! I traveled to Europe and the thought of them having to bring their checkbook to the hospital aroused literal laughs. It's the same notion that we'd have to whip out our debit card to firefighters before they turned the hoses on our burning homes. It's sad. I think the overall costs of UH would be beneficial...in fact, the raised taxes would still probably be lower than our rising premiums every 2 weeks! Thoughts?

I think that the words "for better or worse" is what this is referring to. If your sexual appetite is so insatiable that you have to sleep around rather than taking care of business yourself, you shouldn't be in the marriage. Life isn't always easy, isn't always perfect...and sometimes you have to be an adult and not give into the "its all about my needs" mentality. This may seem overly simplistic or idealized to some, but if I have a spouse, I will NOT be sleeping with anyone else. Sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand about things, and this is a line I wouldn't cross.
