Is anyone going to put in their application this fall for Spring or Summer 2010?. I'm excited about finally getting to put in my application, I'll be attending the August 1st info session and be applying for the summer session. I will still be taking pre-reqs in the spring and I was so relieved when I found out I don't have to have everything finished to apply. My GPA is currently 4.0 and I should (I hope!) be able to keep that up until next spring. I'll be done all my sciences at the end of this summer semester and only have a couple math, a history and a pile of social sciences to do (music appreciation anyone!). The admission essay is making me nervous, but I have lots of time to work on it - I hope my GPA helps me out and they don't rely on essay alone.
I'd love to be in contact with anyone looking to get into CU.
BTW - I was going to go to DSN, but changed my mind since I decided to retake some old classes, and since we're paying for our own kids to go to college at the same time, needed to keep the cost down.
I chatted with an EMT I worked with the other day who is about to finish his BSN in the traditional program at Regis and he was extremely happy with the school and the program. He believes it is the best program in Denver, and now that we are committed to Regis, we might as well believe him![]()
Indeed!
August... although I might take some classes this summer to get the upper division electives out of the way. The girlfriend is going to get a place in Golden and we'll be there during the week, and in the mountains on weekends. When does your program start? Are you planning to move closer to campus or are you going to commute?
Just got my small thin letter in the mail, I thought at least I would get on the call back list but not even that It informed me of the one time opportunity to be considered again for the Spring 2011 start term. You think that if I check the box and mail it back that we are unable to change anything about our application? I feel as though a lot has changed for me since I submitted the application last November. I am currently taking a Nurse Aide course at Red Rocks and will be hired at Lutheran Medical as soon as I get my certificate and my volunteering has changed my perspective to where I could write a better essay. I wonder if we would be able to write another essay cause I don't see how my exact application with just additional courses is going to give me a better chance.
So plan B take one more summer course and finish the prereqs. for Metro and apply by Sept 1st. for a January 2011 start date.
Got my letter today, also a thin one Total bummer. I don't really have a plan B except to apply to Metro in September, I guess. It's so hard to know what others had that you didn't. They also mentioned the roll-over option in mine, which I will do. Congrats to everyone who was accepted! You have all been so wonderful and supportive on here!
Hey everyone!
So sorry today was a disappointment for some of you! Today my letter finally came and I was accepted for the accelerated program (although not til Spring 2011). This made my choice really easy! :) People on the waiting list rejoice because I'm going to decline and will be joining the May 2010 cohort at Univ of Rochester instead!
Good luck to you all as we continue our quest to become nurses! And thank god this long wait is OVER! :)

Ok, this gives me hope! I'm just a smidgen below that, also a recent grad from a very good college with one year experience in ER...who knows, maybe there is still a chance. I just hate the waiting!
