  1. Hey Hockeynpolo, I was just wondering what program you are in...that sounds awesome! Have you started yet and if so, how are you liking it? Thanks!
  2. Meredith~ Best of luck to you! :)
  3. I forgot to post my stats: GPA: 3.56 from a very competitive college pre req gpa: 4.0 volunteer exp: 1 yr in ER california resident (don't know if that matters), recent grad with no health care experience other than volunteer essay: ...i talked about living in costa rica, working w an epileptic child (that was my critical thinking portion), and the rest was pretty generic. (....as i type my stats i wonder how i got in)
  4. Hey everyone! So sorry today was a disappointment for some of you! Today my letter finally came and I was accepted for the accelerated program (although not til Spring 2011). This made my choice really easy! :) People on the waiting list rejoice because I'm going to decline and will be joining the May 2010 cohort at Univ of Rochester instead! Good luck to you all as we continue our quest to become nurses! And thank god this long wait is OVER! :)
  5. CalAn~ congrats! that's so awesome you got in! i'm still waiting for my letter..where ru in Cali?
  6. congrats to everyone who got in! i'm still waiting over here in california, hopefully today though! Question: does anyone know out of state tuition cost for the accelerated program?
  7. starghadeer and malapata, i'm coming from SF as well. it sounds like there are lots of west coasters! we can all suffer through winter together! :)
  8. Hey guys, So I guess maybe I should be freaking out too? I dunno, I am not that worried about getting loans. Did you guys fill out fafsa and find out your EFC (expected family contribution)? If it said 0 or low, then you should be awarded federal loans. If you are thinking you will need private loans, I did mine through Salli Mae for college and have not had any problems so far...they were actually really understanding when I was unemployed and couldn't pay!
  9. Nikki, Was she talking about those scholarship too, the ones they included in the acceptance packet, or just loans? THanks
  10. Hey KatyB, I would say definitely email the guy and ask him. I know some are opening up at the end of summer. Also, I am not 100% sure if i'm coming, there is a small chance I will end up at another school, but they aren't letting us know until end of March....SO if I end up having to give up my spot, I will let you know asap! :)
  11. Hey everyone, I reserved a room through the above website...the house is on Raleigh street. My question to those of you who know the area is if there are good places within walking distance (restaurants, grocery stores)...also, do people ride bikes? I am trying to determine if I need a car. I figure I will need one in the winter, but I would prefer to walk/ride places in summer and spring. Is this do-able? Thanks!
  12. Malapata~ I'm in the BSN program, but if it goes well, I am considering the Acute Care NP program...I can't wait to learn more about it. Good luck on hearing from the rest of your schools...that would be awesome if you got into UCSF...their program looks amazing!
  13. Hey malpata! I am from SF too, living sort of between inner sunset and cole valley right now...what about u? I am in sort of the same boat as you...still waiting to here from CU Denver, which won't happen til April! Where else are you waiting to hear back from? Have you visited Rochester yet? I still need to make a trip out there...I was trying to hold off til the snow calmed down a bit!
  14. Congrats to everyone who just heard! I can't believe they made you wait so long, but at least it was worth it! :) Can't wait to meet everyone in May!
  15. One- Ok the last one i received was in Jan (around the 15th), but I had previously already received one that said my application was completed and ready for review. Is that what your one today said? If not, what did it say? THanks!
