  1. Hi guys! I am in the process of reactivating my expired WA RN license and just applied for my APRN license. What was the timing like to get this done? I am coming from out of state. I applied for reactivation of my RN license a couple weeks back and APRN yesterday. Thanks!
  2. 6 weeks should be plenty of time! Just make sure to put time aside to study as well as having an occasional day off. Do tons of questions and read the rationales even the ones you got write or the other answer choices. If something doesn't make sense- look it up. I didn't do a lot of content review but feel as though by doing a couple thousand questions it was reviewing content. I took Kaplan did all the question trainers and 70% of their question bank questions. Did I feel prepared- no...but how can you know every drug, surgery and condition?...you can't. I took a little over two weeks to review and passed with 75Q. Take a deep breath and put the time in- you've got this!
  3. I forgot to mention that I got my official results on Friday. The PVT worked for me! Yeah!
  4. Done at 10:00 (MST)! 75 Questions and good pop-up! So happy to be done! Good luck to all taking it. Just remember to take a deep breath, read the question and have confidence!
  5. Hi All, I have been on this website since before I began nursing school. Today is the big day! I take the NCLEX at 0800 MST. I am nervous, excited and terrified. I have a job lined up at an Academic Hospital nearby, so a lot is riding on this test. Anyways, I will report back later this afternoon and let you all know how it went. Positive vibes, prayers, juju, dancing are all encouraged! Quick Background: Graduated in Dec. 2012 with BSN, studied for 2-3 weeks after Kaplan Course. I did tons of ?s (QTrainers/Qbank) 69% on QT 6 & 7, reviewed rationales, looked up misc things in my Saunders book etc. Hope it was enough!
  6. I used the livescribe pen throughout nursing school (I am about to graduate in December) and absolutely love it! I would highly recommend buying it. I find it very helpful to listen to the lectures before tests. I have had mine for 4+ years and it's still kicking!
  7. I don't remember what the specific numbers were- but I know that they had a decent amount of openings and not a ridiculous amount of applicants-which is pretty rare. They open and close their application times so quickly- so you have to jump on it when they do open. Make sure that you apply right after Med/Surg I, if they are hiring. I heard that they typically like to have you working as an ACP for at least a year- so if you wait till 6 months till graduation then your chances of getting the job as an ACP are pretty slim. You can tell them your preferences on which floor you would like to work-and they consider that in making their decision. However, if they feel you would do better on a certain floor (or a particular NM likes you) then you will get placed there. It was just one interview with a panel It took about a week for them to call and set up an interview (which was one week later), then about a week and a half to get the phone call that I was hired--so a few weeks from start to finish. Anymore ?'s--send them my way :)
  8. Thank you! I have some experience in the health care field, lots of volunteering under my belt and a great recommendation from a past clinical instructor. I think the interview went pretty well too. I was a tad nervous because it was a panel (made up of the hiring nurse managers) asking me the questions. If you have anymore questions-send them this way!
  9. I was just hired as an ACP-- orientation starts on Aug 22nd! I am pretty excited/nervous :)
  10. Hi Sourapril! Advanced Care Partners (ACP) are paid positions at UCH. Did you recently apply/interview?
  11. Limeade: Congrats! That is so exciting!! Please join the fb group!
  12. Hi Dreams2BeRN, I have a pacemaker! I am actually starting nursing school next month, so I am also curious to find out if there is any other limitations besides staying away from MRIs. My doctor doesn't seem to think that there would be. I get so excited when I meet someone that has a pacemaker too (especially if they are under 80)! :w00t: Are you in school now?
  13. I just joined! Thanks for making it :)
  14. I think starting a facebook group is a terrific idea! Let me know when you create one. I got my packet today too! I am really excited/anxious about June! :):):)
