California to Washington RN License
Hi guys! I am in the process of reactivating my expired WA RN license and just applied for my APRN license. What was the timing like to get this done? I am coming from out of state. I applied for reactivation of my RN license a couple weeks back and APRN yesterday. Thanks!

Got my ATT (bites nails)... 6 weeks enough to review?
6 weeks should be plenty of time! Just make sure to put time aside to study as well as having an occasional day off. Do tons of questions and read the rationales even the ones you got write or the other answer choices. If something doesn't make sense- look it up. I didn't do a lot of content review but feel as though by doing a couple thousand questions it was reviewing content. I took Kaplan did all the question trainers and 70% of their question bank questions. Did I feel prepared- no...but how can you know every drug, surgery and condition?...you can't. I took a little over two weeks to review and passed with 75Q. Take a deep breath and put the time in- you've got this!

NCLEX in 2.5 Hours
Hi All, I have been on this website since before I began nursing school. Today is the big day! I take the NCLEX at 0800 MST. I am nervous, excited and terrified. I have a job lined up at an Academic Hospital nearby, so a lot is riding on this test. Anyways, I will report back later this afternoon and let you all know how it went. Positive vibes, prayers, juju, dancing are all encouraged! Quick Background: Graduated in Dec. 2012 with BSN, studied for 2-3 weeks after Kaplan Course. I did tons of ?s (QTrainers/Qbank) 69% on QT 6 & 7, reviewed rationales, looked up misc things in my Saunders book etc. Hope it was enough!

Livescribe Pen: To Buy or Not to Buy
I used the livescribe pen throughout nursing school (I am about to graduate in December) and absolutely love it! I would highly recommend buying it. I find it very helpful to listen to the lectures before tests. I have had mine for 4+ years and it's still kicking!

is UCH Advanced Care Partners Internships a paid position?
I don't remember what the specific numbers were- but I know that they had a decent amount of openings and not a ridiculous amount of applicants-which is pretty rare. They open and close their application times so quickly- so you have to jump on it when they do open. Make sure that you apply right after Med/Surg I, if they are hiring. I heard that they typically like to have you working as an ACP for at least a year- so if you wait till 6 months till graduation then your chances of getting the job as an ACP are pretty slim. You can tell them your preferences on which floor you would like to work-and they consider that in making their decision. However, if they feel you would do better on a certain floor (or a particular NM likes you) then you will get placed there. It was just one interview with a panel It took about a week for them to call and set up an interview (which was one week later), then about a week and a half to get the phone call that I was hired--so a few weeks from start to finish. Anymore ?'s--send them my way :)

Thank you! I have some experience in the health care field, lots of volunteering under my belt and a great recommendation from a past clinical instructor. I think the interview went pretty well too. I was a tad nervous because it was a panel (made up of the hiring nurse managers) asking me the questions. If you have anymore questions-send them this way!

Any nurses with Pacemakers?
Hi Dreams2BeRN, I have a pacemaker! I am actually starting nursing school next month, so I am also curious to find out if there is any other limitations besides staying away from MRIs. My doctor doesn't seem to think that there would be. I get so excited when I meet someone that has a pacemaker too (especially if they are under 80)! :w00t: Are you in school now?

By registration packet, do you mean the paperwork that came with the acceptance letter (immunizations, in-state questionnaire, drug test form etc)? I got all of that, but not anything else. Well actually, I did get something saying I was approved for in-state tuition. That's about it.

Violet808: I am so glad that they called you back!! :) If it is you (I sit in front of you in Micro), right? I hope you don't mind that I shared your story, I wanted to make sure that everyone knew to have their phones on them at all times! Did they give you an accelerated spot??

anyone applying to CU for 2010?
Hi All! I found out something interesting in regards to call backs. One of the girls in my Microbiology class got a call back (answered the phone right when they called) and got in! The other girl got a call (didn't answer it, she missed the call..they didn't leave a message) so she called them back to see if it was the Nursing School, sure enough it was but since she didn't answer the phone when they originally called she was S.O.L..they basically move on to the next person if you don't pick up!!! So ladies/gents who are on the call list, keep your phones on you! I thought this was crazy!! When she talked to the admissions person about it, the lady said to make sure you are always by your phone and you could possibly get another call back in the future (she was rolled back into the list) ... OMG I feel so bad for her!! Just thought everyone would like to know! Crazy, crazy, crazy!

SummitAP: I never got an email saying that my application was done being processed and ready for final review. The last email I got was Jan 12th saying that they had everything the needed. I got my acceptance letter on Saturday and my last name starts with an S. Hope this helps.. Let me know if you need anymore info. I wish they would have sent all of the letters out at once. I know all of you must be super stressed! It sounds like everyone should know really soon though. I talked to my friend that received an email as her rejection for admissions. She said the her cum GPA was a 2.9 (which doesn't meet the requirements), so I am assuming that is why she got an email rather than a letter. Who knows?

I just tried to contact her for more info about the email. She was pretty vague about it, so who knows. I will keep you all posted when she responds.
