I am attempting the low carbs, as are so many others...

Those I work with have lost in excess of 20 lbs!!!

I hope to be so lucky... how are you all doing on this diet????

Hi.

My husband started a low carb diet about 5 weeks ago and has lost about 23 lbs.

He read the book called "protein power" and it has been very helpful to him.

I've lost 15# in 2 1/2 weeks. I don't expect the pace to continue, but I'm very pleased with my progress so far, and better yet, I FEEL so much better and have so much more energy than I did before I started. I also haven't had a single hypoglycemic episode since the 2nd day of my diet, and they were coming 2-3 times a day sometimes. For me, low-carb is the ONLY way to go.....I died a thousand deaths on low-fat/low-calorie programs due to hunger, and while I can't say I'm *never* hungry now (I'm still working on decreasing my portion sizes), I'm not starving either.:)

I have been on the low carb thing since Jan.2nd and have lost 12 pounds!!! Won't give up my real coffee though!!!

60 lbs and 4 dress sizes in 2 years.:D

I started Atkin's last February 22. As of this morning, I've lost 64lbs. That's including 2 weeks on summer vacation and 2 weeks this passed Christmas of non-low carb eating. Basically, I ate whatever the heck I wanted. I gained about 5-6 lbs each time and it's already gone. :)

I love this way of eating and will never ever return to my old ways.

3 1/2 weeks and 25 lbs. and down 2 pants sizes.

I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks. I am never hungry, I have so much more energy and I will never go back to any other way of eating. It has become a way of life. Over Christmas and New Year's I ate any darn thing I wanted and then returned to the lo carb. I had gained only 3 lbs over the holidays.

There are getting to be so many foods that are lo carb that I don't miss much of anything except Cheetos and potato chips. I eat some of the lo carb candy bars which are very good so that my sweet tooth is satisfied. We use the Power Protein diet plan and aren't too strict with it. We just changed our eating habits and watch the carbs. IT WORKS.:p

I tried the "Carbohydrate Addicts Healthy Heart Program" by Heller and Heller. I didnt lose much weiight on it, and I was on for 3 1/2 months. I didnt cheat either. I lost 5(!) lbs and abt 2 inches around the waist. I did have a great surge in energy however.

How about the south beach diet which I am told is less restrictive but effective. I need the energy as well as weight loss but just cant help thinking cutting to much carbs cant be healthy. How do you all do it. I mean like what do you eat on a reg basis?

22 pounds while breastfeeding, so i was staying on the high end of carbs, and then i became pregnant. That was in 3 months so i was pleased. I love this way of life, i feel SO much better, have much more energy, and don't have anywhere near the bowel issues as i used to. But its not for everyone tho.

We eat the waffles and syrup from the Atkins line and breakfast meats. Eat a lot of broccli and cauliflower. I wash the juice off of canned pears and grate cheese over to make salad. Cool Whip is low in carbs so I use that to make fruit salads. We eat a meat, vegs and a salad for suppers. Lo carb snack bars. We cut out milk and pasta, potatoes, breads. There is a lo carb bread out now also, so we do have that once in awhile. We split a large baked potato about once a week. Sometimes we have a sweet potato. I try to use about 15 carbs for lunch and about 20 for supper. Like I said, we use the Power Protein diet and don't restrict ourselves to as low a carbs as it says and thus lose weight more slowly than a strict diet. I love candy bars so use the lo carb candy bars for snacks. Even Russel Stover has bars out. I feel so much better and have lost one dress size. I don't have a lot of weight to lose so I don't mind losing slowly.
