TN license vs multi-state
I recently relocated/moved to TN from FL. In FL I held nursing license for many years. Prior to my move I applied for and was granted a FL multi-state license thinking I could then practice in TN once I arrived- this was a no go....I had several interviews where employers said I needed my TN license. Soooo I start the process to obtain TN license. I see this morning its approved but has TN multi-state on the board website. I'm now panicked that I'm going to have the same situation with employers wanting TN license. Do all TN licenses have multi-state on them??? I did not apply for or intend to apply for the multi-state but just the single TN license. Can anyone share some insight...I'm freakin out I'm not going to be able to work/find a job on TN multi-state. PLEASE help!

What is this rash?!
Any idea as to what this might be would be appreciated. The children with this rash have recently used antibiotics. Apparently 3 out of 5 came down with sore throats, with white spots, fevers, chills, tiredness, headaches, and mild stomach upset and this same all over body rash. They were minimally affected with use of Benadryl. Is it possible ALL three had an allergic reaction to medications? Any input would be much appreciated

Is there a need for Bilingual nurses and what is the starting salary?
As another poster stated, there is a huge need for Spanish speaking nurses in Florida. I plan on taking beginner and intermediate in the near future. I am HOPING work will consider it under the tuition reimbursement program. I would only be doing it for work as we get many non-English speaking patients.

How many pts do you care for each day?
I mostly do 1 on 1 nursing care with emminent hospice patients. Some are harder than others. This past weekend my patient had TPN, NGt, morphine drip and a bunch of dressings!!!! Not to mention the emotional aspect in dealing with and helping the family through the dying process. I've worked our inpatient hospice unit. It's like intensive care for the dying. I would generally have 3 patients (we had 12 beds and ALWAYS full). It's a very busy place believe it or not with just 3 patients. Some of them get meds every hour on the hour. Lots of dressings, central lines ...you name it. Sometimes by the time you complete an admission, the patient is actually actively dying. It's a huge emotional drain. I can't work there all the time....too much death. We do all care....meds, dressings etc along with all ADLS, meals etc. It's usually an RN and 3 or 4 LPNs depending on census. We also have a unit secretary and social worker that rock!!!

Immunizations...
Thanks everyone for your input. I went yesterday and had a combo shot Hep A and B along with Tetorifice/Diptheria. My arms are SOOOOO sore right now. I am getting so discouraged with all this hurry up and wait. I just want to get there and start working.

Immunizations...
There is a good chance I'll be going to New Orleans to assist with the recovery and medical team efforts. What immunizations would you be sure to have before deployment? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Test Results
It was finally posted on Thursday evening sometime. I did it! I somehow PASSED!!!! Phewwwww...It was difficult though. Lots of legal type questions, 3 fill-in the blanks (all dosages) and a few pick all that apply. I was so certain I failed, I went from my test to Borders Books and bought a new Saunders review book. :smackingf I decided to keep the book for reviewing anyway. I'm still pretty much in shock....I had graduated 5-6 years ago from school but never sat for the exam. I'm ecstatic. Thanks to everyone that's replied now and in the passed and g'luck to others ready to sit their boards.

I sat for my Nclex pn exam this morning and was wondering how do I go about obtaining results online in Florida? I've seen many collegues mention you can do this by going onto the board of nursing website. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
