Hi, I'm 32 years old, I've been a CNA in the past and I can't get the idea out of my head that I want to be a registered nurse. Am I too old to start nursing school?
Will be 39 in June. Currently working on some pre nursing courses. Accepted to an LPN program in the fall. One year bridge after that then online for my BSN. I will be knocking on the door of 45 when all that is complete. NEVER too old only question is if you have the determination and desire.
If you're too old then I'm too old and I refuse to believe that I'm too old. I'm 30 and if all goes well and as planned in the next few months, God willing, I'll be around 32 when I graduate. God had other plans for me when I was 22 and I was unable to go to follow my dreams then, but he's allowing me it do it now. If your heart is in it, go for it! If anyone ever tells you you're too old, they must be too young to understand the reasoning behind continuing your education.

I will be 40 when I graduate and I believe with all my heart that I will be a better nurse now then if I started in my early 20's. Life experience has made me "ready". If you can't get the idea out of your head that you want to be an RN- then maybe you should start listening to that voice;) Go for it!

I'd like to believe that you're never to old to peruse your dreams. I've read several articles about men and women in their 70s, 80s and I think even a man that was 99 years old continuing their education. In fact, my 75-year-old grandmother recently got her GED! Stop dreaming. Start doing!!
