  1. Started buying school supplies this week. School doesn't start until September but I'm a school supply junkie and have been picking up things as I see them on sale.
  2. In reference to you planner question this is the one I own... That's the new one I just ordered. I had the current one I have used the last year has been a lifesaver
  3. I'm from Sikeston :) been at TRCC for the last 2 semesters doing some basic nursing classes that I will apply later to the bridge program. Will start LPN in Cape Sept 29th.
  4. 9800 books & tuition at local technical school
  5. I forgot to add. SAT or ACT need to be as high as possible so take it as many times as you can.
  6. My daughter applied for nursing school the summer before her Jr year due to long wait times in that school. She focused on math and science classes and took a CNA program offered through the schools vocational program. Keep your grades up !!!! Also consider extracurricular activities (clubs ect) and volunteer opportunities. Best of luck
  7. I just turned 39 this week and am in my second semester of pre reqs. I managed a 4.0 last semester after being out of school for 20 years. I have worked in law enforcement for the last 15 years. I think being older has been an advantage for me. I know myself better. I am more focused and I can fight off the desire some college freshman have to spend their weekends binge drinking ;-). Congrats on your accomplishment and keep up the good work.
  8. I used my supervisor at work, a co-worker and a friend who works in the medical field.
  9. My best friend suffers from social anxiety as well. She earned a masters degree in social work and is now (very successfully) working in a clinical setting as a therapist. The trick is learning every thing you can and then relying on those skills everyday to do your job. Be confident in yourself and your abilities. There are lots of different jobs for nurses. And some don't actually require much interaction if that ends up being an obstacle Research all of the options Learn everything. Take advantage of every opportunity and celebrate every small victory. Best of wishes.
  10. I will have chem lecture and lab all in one. The class is 2 days a week 5 hours a day for 4 weeks. It starts June 30th I believe.
  11. Haha. My need for human interaction won out temporarily.
  12. College writing, intermediate algebra and Intro to Chemistry. Good times
  13. So in my infinite wisdom and over zealous ambition to get as much done as possible I am now facing the consequences of 12 credits for summer semester. I feel like I live at my computer desk. Positive I guess I am seeing what it will be like once I actually start nursing school. And no there is no real purpose to this thread just needed 5 minutes that wasn't school related. Rock on pre-nurse friends.
  14. Took 18 credit hours last semester and worked 30 hours per week. Won't do it again!! Not working at all after I start the LPN program in September
  15. Nice!!! Congrats
