Just completed my first 2 nursing courses and it was tough! I am in 2 yr ADN program, so each course is 8 wks. I am blown away by how much we have to learn in such a short window. Each exam is typically over 12-13 chapters & lecture notes, exams every 2 week with a pass rate of 78%+. I've had many sleepless nights cracking those books.

Did you get into the program yet?

Oh and master the language of anatomy in the beginning (use flash carss) things fall into place after that.

Don't let it psych you out. I was so nervous, but managed an A in A&P I and a B in A&P II. Pay attention to your teacher's cues on what he feels important. Attend every class and never fall behind on reading. I found flash cards helpful but part I.

Stay up on all readings, never fall behind. Also, I would look for opportunites to apply what I learned to life, what you can explain to others sticks with you. The toughest parts for me were Endocrine & Respiratory. Those hormones are super important and will come up throughout A&P II, master them.

Have you tried an ickstick?

Sometimes A&P does not transfer. There is a gal in my A&P 2 that had tl retake both after transferring bc our community college uses cadavers and her previous school did not.

Nah! I'm 33 and most of the gals in my final preq are young mothers.

A&P 1 did not like the muscles, enjoyed the Nervous System. In A&P II now, heart is fascinating. Have enjoyed everything so far...
