I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.
Getting in Nursing school at this point is purely based on luck. I applied to an ADN program in MI with all pre-req courses completed, 95% on entrance exam and gpa was a solid 3.6. I was waitlisted, because they were accepting students with gpa between 4.0-3.78. I took two courses over got A's brought that GPA up still was waitlisted the following year. I have given up on that program and waiting to hear if I can get in WCCCD ADN program. The stress of waiting is really taking it's toll on me:crying2:
Got my letter today! I got the nod earlier last month to transfer into a BSN program but today got the letter from my first choice, an ADN program. Really excited to have this last year of work behind me and looking forward to the real work to start. Congrats to all who got in and to those who have not, keep trying if it is something you really want to do.
I was on Vacation in early April, and I got the notification to take the TEAS. Which, by the way meant I was half way to acceptance. It was about a month earlier than I expected, but I kept having this feeling it would be there when I got home.
Well I had 2 weeks to review for the TEAS V. At first we were scheduled to take the Pencil/paper version, and at the last minute changed to the Online version, which meant that I got my Score as soon as finshed - and so did my school.
Every hour since I took the test I was checking my email, and late yesterday afternoon I got "the e-mail"
Yahooeee I got accepted. tears of joy, fear, happiness .........
I'm so excited, I wonder what is next, and hope that there is a "family night" I had just told my hubby that we
need to get a cleaning lady when I start Nursing school.
My Son was right, things aren't going to be the same.

I decided not to apply to the school I'm taking my pre-reqs at. They are sooo unorganized and rude, and their facilities are a joke. I'm going to apply to another school. I visited them today, and the nursing lady looked at all of my stuff and said she bets I get in...eek! I was so excited to hear some encouragement! I take my TEAS May 5th, and applications are due May 12th. I should hear something around July I guess. It seems so far away! The onyl bad thing is that this new school's night program is part-time and will take 7 semesters, but they have a 100% NCLEX pass rate. The people are nice, the facilities are excellent, and I am really getting excited!!!! Our pre-req hell is coming to an end!!!!
