OCC - 2010 applicants / 2011 ADN prospective students
I wish you all the best of luck on your applications to OCC Nursing program. I too applied two years ago with a gpa at 3.73 I was waitlisted for the past two years. I was a little discouraged and opt to try another nursing program. Again Good Luck everyone.

Possible WCCCD Nursing Applicants
"If you are referring to the NLNAC Accreditation, then you are correct. WCCCD lost theirs quite a few years ago (10+ I believ). However, they are still accredited through the state". With WCCCD losing their National accreditation does that limit me from practicing in states outside of MI?

Take teas now, just to get the stuff I know out of the way?
I would check with the school you intend on applying to determine if there is a maxium amount of times you can sit for the TEAS Exam. The program I am trying to get in requires only 3 attempts. From what I remember there is General science questions, Human body (Anatomy), Chemical science, scientific reasoning. It is an assortment of questions that cover a lot of science. I certainly would not rush into taking the test if you are not ready. get a basic biology, Anatomy, and Chemistry book and study. I know it is about 30 question on this portion. Good luck..

I am not going to say IF, but WHEN we get accepted into WCCCD program:) I would like to meet with you. Maybe we can be study buddies, I know first hand this program is grueling and you can not do it alone.. I was in WSU nursing program five years ago. I did not do well in Pharmacology and could not continue in the program..However, that was then, I am a more dedicated and focus at this time. Good luck with your endeavors.

ADN Fall 2011 Hopefuls!!!
Getting in Nursing school at this point is purely based on luck. I applied to an ADN program in MI with all pre-req courses completed, 95% on entrance exam and gpa was a solid 3.6. I was waitlisted, because they were accepting students with gpa between 4.0-3.78. I took two courses over got A's brought that GPA up still was waitlisted the following year. I have given up on that program and waiting to hear if I can get in WCCCD ADN program. The stress of waiting is really taking it's toll on me:crying2:

Possible WCCCD Nursing Applicants
Mid May girl I will be in stir crazy by then :). I did not apply to no other school but WCCC. Considering I will be paying for this program out of pocket. I can not afford University cost and used loan money on my first BS degree. I wish you well on both programs. Anyway, I have not heard much about Mercy of Toledo. Do you know the cost of the program and is the program RN or LPN?

Possible WCCCD Nursing Applicants
I applied for Wayne County Community Nursing program 01/2011. I have yet to hear from the college if accepted or not . Has any WCCCD applicants heard back regarding their applications? Everytime I call the Nursing office they tell me letters have not been sent out yet. The stress from waiting is killing me slowly.

I got accepted! =)
Congrats on the acceptance letter.. Get ready for plenty of long nights of studying and hopefully your friends will understand you will not be able to partake in social events. However, the reward of getting through this program is far greater than partying.. STUDY, STUDY and then STUDY SOME MORE.

so i took the TEAS V today...
Congrats on the 82% on the Teas exam. That is a solid score, I am sure you will get in a ADN program.

Scheduled to take the TEAS V test on May 9th!
Is this the first time your taking the Teas Exam? I did not find the prep book very helpful. I went to http://www.testprepreview.com/teas_practice.htm and did sample questions there also I would suggest going over basic biology, Chemistry and Anatomy. I took the test twice before getting an acceptable score. Also be very clear on your basic math and the ablity to complete the problems in a timely matter. The test was computerized and once the time was up the test advance to the next section. Wishing you all the luck for a high score.
