A Public Thank You

Published

Somebody (tnbutterfly won't tell me who) gifted me with a year premium membership.

So this is a thank you, random citizen, for the lovely gift. It means a lot to me that someone would do this for me. I'm not even a nurse yet.

I'm not good at expressing myself sometimes but please know it made me cry.

Love to all my friends

Awe you're too soft to join the COB club.

Yeah.

You gotta be like hard, solid bat poop.

There would be no way people would find out unless you said something like...

My name is Jane Doe

I work at Nowhere Hospital

I drive a Prius

I have brown hair and brown eyes

I am 7 foot tall

Then they would know who you are.

Since I'm socially awkward in person, AN is a place for me to anonymously be my goofy self without feeling weird about it. I'm so much cooler online. I just don't disclose any information in which people could follow back to me.

Nope, I've figured out the identity of an AN member I work with, and someone has also figured out who I was. Neither of us posted identifying information or really specific stories about our patients. It's easier than you think.

Yea. I worked with someone who is on the SN board with me. Also anyone else can figure me out because we use the avatar emojis when we text. Oh well.

Oh no, not at all! I'm afraid of someone in real life figuring out who i am. Paranoid I know!!! Of course no one could ever prove a thing!

And that's a distinct possibility. I've recognized three people from real life. One of them was someone who had a really poor attitude -- at least I was pretty sure she did. I had to do her evaluation, and although I tried to give her every benefit of the doubt, we had to discuss her attitude. I had a hard time with that evaluation -- I hate giving negative feedback! And then immediately after that, I recognized some of her posts online -- and it quickly became evident that the attitude was truly NASTY. She wasn't so obvious as to use her selfie as an avatar or post under her own name, but she DID use a picture of her dog. The same one she used for her FaceBook account.

At least one person from my school knows who I am. Never talked to him until we talked on here then we became acquaintances at school.

Now that's funny; chatting with someone online, then finding out you know each other IRL but never really talked until you met on a website.

I think you were gifted with the membership because you are so very Ood and we'n's tend to like Oodness in a poster!

PS I drive a 13 y.o. chevy which has, over the years, got dinged, scraped, and lost most of it's shiny black paint to long-term exposure to the sun and rain, etc. But it has the heart (engine) of a trooper. As long as it runs without giving me any trouble (and it has been remarkably free of major repairs) I will drive it through rain, sleet, snow and dark of night; it is very dependable!
