So, i am guessing we've all registered for our classes for next semester...i wanted to start a thread where everyone taking the course can come together to ask questions they need help with or just vent or LOL....watever the case may be...so if you are taking A&P 1 in the spring...introduce your self...
a. How many credits you are taking next semester
b. What part of A&P 1 you are looking forward to, are you nervous?
c. How long you have to apply?
d. Some random thing about you?
Lets gooooooo................
Check this thread for some amazing notes by a member.... Polka-dot.(You Rock!!)...for notes on A&P....and welcome to anatomy heaven...:)

Our Biology department does not allow professors to curve. Generally anatomy starts out full (about 22 students) and is down to 12-14 by end of quarter. My class started with 22 and there were 13 at the end - 3 As, 2 Bs, 5 Cs, and 3 who had to retake (plus the 9 who dropped). I believe the other sections wind up about the same. Anatomy and Physiology tend to be weed out courses on our campus.
Glad to see you all have survived! I just took my lecture exam yesterday..... escaped with a B in the class. I was hoping for a few extra points (A territory!), but no curve.Still awaiting the lab grade.........
Is everyone finished? I can't believe I'm done! On to A&P2!
Congrats!!! I'm surprise you get 2 separate grades. For my class we only get 1 grade, 70% (lecture exams) and 30% (lab practicals). I take my final lecture exam tomorrow. I've been studying an hour or two a day. I hope I do well enough to keep my A I have so far in the class. It would suck if I bombed the final and bring my grade down.
I hope I can get the same professor for A&P 2 in the fall because he curves our tests and drop our lowest lab practical (since there are NO make-up days for lab practicals). I heard A&P2 is harder because for the lab portion, students have to do a lot of clinical case studies and presentations. A&P1 lab was basically all memorization.
I should have checked this forum out about a year ago! Aaarrgghhhh. Anyhow, I just finished up A&P II. At least it's done. Now, on to microbiology. I wonder if there is a thread for that? Or should we start one? I am taking an online microbiology class from a Va community college! It's new. They just started giving it in Spring of 2010. They are running it over the summer too, but there is no way I am taking micro in less than 16 weeks. As of now, they haven't posted the fall schedule for the class, but the professor told me it would be offered. I think I'll poke around for a micro thread, and if there isn't one..... :)
I don't know why I just now found this thread? Anyway, I'm finishing up with A&P II on Saturday, which is when the final is. The last lab practical was this past Saturday and I made 103/100 woohoo! I was pretty excited about that. However, I'm very, very nervous about the final. It's 50% comprehensive and 50% on the Repro system. I've been studying my butt off!
SleeplessNVa - I'm taking Micro this summer in 8 weeks. I want to get it out of the way since there is a very good chance that I'll start the nursing program in the fall. I turned in my app on April 1st and the letters go out at the end of this month. I'm going to be crazy by then! You're lucky that your school has online Micro...I wish mine did! Good luck!

Hi Taranator,
It's actually not my school, but it's in the Va Community College System, so I know it will transfer into my school. I took a chem class last summer at a different VCCS school and it transferred like butter. It's at Patrick Henry Community College and it's fully accredited, so you might want to check into it? I couldn't believe it at first, which is why I contacted the professor, but it's the truth!

It still says not scheduled for fall, which has me nervous and wondering if I should take it this summer, but they swore they were going to offer it again in the fall. I have a couple of co-requisites left or I would have applied for next fall. I don't want to have anything left but nursing classes when I apply. Good luck to you, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. If you can get through A&P I and II, you can do the micro :anpom:

It's a combination of both. Oh well. My school's nursing program is direct entry so what you get in A&P doesn't matter as long as it's a C. And in my class, it's a mix of freshmen nursing students and random upperclassmen who just wanted to take the class.
