My name is Mia, I would like to join this forum, although I just completed A&P 1. I will be taking A&P 2 for Spring 2010. I only have 10 credits and I have a long ways to go on prerequisites because I attend school part-time. I actually took A&P 1 online and I loved it. I enjoyed the labs even more. I probably won't be ready to apply to my school's nursing program until the fall of 2011. I began my dosage calculations class next week (it lasts a month). I'm willing to help out with any discussions regarding A&P 1, I made an "A".

Hi, y'all.

My name is Kelli and...

A. I will be taking 10 credits during the spring semester--in addition to A&P1, I will be taking CHM1020, and Nutrition.

B. I'm looking forward to gaining a better understanding of how the human body actually works.

C. I will be applying to start the RN program at my local CC in January 2011--application deadline is October 3rd.

D. In addition to going to school, I am a SAHM to a 3 year-old, and a 19 month-old. Also, I will be taking the NLN PAX-RN in March.

Hi!

My name's Allie (it's short for Alexandria) and...

1)I'm taking 10 credits. In addition to A&P1 I'm taking Nutrition and Dev Psych.

2)I'm actually really excited about the class. I'm a little nervous but I've already started studying with flash cards.

3)I'll be done with my pre-reqs by the end of the summer and so I'll apply in August. I'm so excited!!!

4)Random thing....I was in school for Restaurant Management before this but then I changed my mind.

Hi All,

I'm Jeff. 45yo returning student after 20 years in restaurant biz. Took prenursing just out of HS so I have to repeat all my sciences.

a. Only taking A/P1, because I'm still a nonresident and it will cost 3x as much!

b. I'm looking forward to getting started! I remember from AP in 1984 that it was interesting, like a puzzle! We had cadavers, so that kinda weirded me out the first week. Then, I got over it.

c. I should be able to apply for the Spring 2011 semester.

my screenname refers to growing up on a farm in Indiana (although I moved there in my teens and we didn't really farm. We were just located waaay out in the boonies!); then moving to San Diego where I lived for 20 years; then moving to NYC for 2 years. Now I live in Florida (Brevard Co.) with family after being laid off in March 09.

I will be attending pre-nursing at Brevard CC and hopefully transferring to Valencia CC for Nursing.

Question for you all: The reason I'm going to commute to Valencia is to attend an accredited RN program vs. a non-accredited. I can't really seem to get a clear answer about how important it is. I've heard that some scholarships require it, some hospitals don't like hiring from non-accred. schools, and some schools don't fully recognize the classes you take if you decide to go further for a BSN. What have you guys heard about accredited/non- schools?

I look forward to going through AP1 with you all!!

Hi!

My name is Kim. Nursing will be my first degree.

1) Taking 10 Credits. A&P + Intro to Psych.

2) Honestly I'm looking foward to the challenge. I think cadavers would be cool. Although, not sure my class will be doing that..

3) Applying Jan 2011

4) Random thing? Raised in a small Alaskan town.

Good Luck Everyone! : )

my name is Shakera am taking 18 credits next semster ican apply for Fall 2010 deadline is Jan 15.....i need to be studying for my TEAS test

Hey, everyone! My name is Sharon and I am taking A&P I at Trocaire College in Buffalo, NY in Spring 2010. I am 36 and had a major life epiphany last year to totally switch career gears! My hubby and I relocated to Buffalo from New Jersey this past Summer so we are TRULY starting over! I already have a B.A in Psychology from back in the day so I may be lookig into psychiatric nursing in the future. I am NERVOUS! I love researching medical facts and my friends always tease me because I am always offering up medical advice & pseudo diagnosing their various illnesses! ( I am often right, btw..lol!), but the thought of going back to school at my age is a wee bit scary! Anyhow, I am glad to meet you all and you can best believe that I will be on here LOTS during the semester!

Hiya, Jeff! Well, from what I hear you really need to go to an accredited school. It seems that you have a good potential to run into issue if the school isn't accredited. I took A&P I online last year at a school that wound up not being accredited and I can't even use it at my new school! That really sucks especially since I got an A-!!!

Good Luck to you! = )

Hey, I'm Lindsey. January 2010 is going to be my first semester, and I'm taking 12 credits. I have Anatomy lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays, and then after the lecture of Wednesday, I have a lab.

I am a little nervous about doing well, and about if I'm smart enough...but I know I am, there are just a few butterflies in my stomach.

Hmm, something random about me...I have tattoos (which I can hide If I want to) I speak Spanish pretty well, and I love cooking and eating exotic foods!
