I have to draw too Remilekun. I suck at drawing. It freaked me out at first but now I'm ok with it. My drawings don't look as fantastic as some of my classmates but my prof is not looking for works of art so its OK. As long as I give her a general idea of what they look like and label the parts correctly I'll be fine so don't stress it too much.
Thanks for the advice, I'm really glad I'm not alone in this.
What chapter is everyone on? We just had our Skeleton/joints exam today. Now we are moving on to Muscles.
Im getting so burned out on this class. I dont know how I did on the exam today, Im sorry to say that I hope I get a B. Im dissapointed and I feel like Im losing my edge. I did pretty good on the diagrams, but the T and F questions are hard for everyone in my class. We had at least 2 questions on areas that we didnt cover. These types of questions are what is hurting me on exams.
We started muscles yesterday in lecture. We are still on the skeleton in lab. Next week is midterms so I'm gearing up for that. But we have a quiz tomorrow in lab on the skeleton.
I found this guy on youtube the other day and he is absolutely amazing. He does a very good job of explaining things and the way he draws and illustrates makes it a lot easier to understand how things fit together. I know we all have different learning styles. I'm more of a visual learner so things like this always help big time. I'm posting it in case it might help someone else.

We (presumably, since I missed class) started muscles today. Maybe skeleton-stuff. I'm not sure.
I actually have had a rough 7 weeks...and just now (after reading some books)...I feel a lot more comfortable with the idea of nursing, so I'm ready to give it a shot again. Hopefully I'll be able to make it up.
Does anyone else have cadavers? We just went into our cadaver lab today and started muscles.
When I took A&P 1 at Southwestern College in Chula Vista we had the chance to view a already opened cadaver and explore the contents if we wished. The grayish color and smell were the most difficult for me, so I just tried not to breath through my nose to much.
In the school that I am now in, we do not have access to cadavers and I was told that they are surprisingly hard to get. So we had to use mammalian tetra pods instead. In both cases the smell is something that really bothered me, but I heard rubbing vicks under your nose can help.
I found this interesting article pertaining to you question that I thought might be of interest to you or others. The writer of the article does a good job of painting a vivid picture of the cadaver experience, and overall a pretty informative article. Have a look.

Cheers...
We just had our quiz today on the bones and axial skeleton.
I got a C and I''m SOOO bummed....I have been crazy memorizing the bones, and forgot about
all the little details involved with them. I was getting an A up until today
I guess I need to change up my study methods...
We do have cadavers, but our instructor is "saving" it until we do the muscles. ~which is next I think~
Yeah, I've heard that we're like the only "junior college" with cadavers in our area - I've also heard that they're hard to get. Ours are bodies donated to science and are given to us from OHSU. We're given intros to them and lectured on treating them with respect, etc. It's really cool, if a bit smelly.
Looks like me link does not work, darn and sorry about that. Let me try again.
