In a cowardly move in the last minutes of his administration he pardoned family members.

It's been said here in these forums many times that the innocent shouldn't fear prosecution. So, I wonder why all these folks would need to be pardoned?

QuoteNayib Hassan, an attorney for former Proud Boys national chairman Enrique Tarrio, said in a statement that his client's pardon "symbolizes a turning point for our nation.”
"Throughout this journey, we have steadfastly maintained that the charges and the subsequent prosecution were politically motivated, and today, with President Trump's act of clemency, that long-fought battle concludes,” Hassan said.

I guess trying to hold people accountable for attempting to overthrow the election results is "politically motivated".
Nothing Trump has done yesterday is surprising. He's doing what he said he would do.
I was disappointed that during his rally speech he still said the election was rigged in 2020.

I'm not surprised, but am disappointed he did a mass pardon for the Jan 6 rioters.
The prosecutions did have a political element, but many absolutely were deserving of being held responsible. I would have like the pardons to be considered on a case by case basis. For one, that would have been more appropriate. And for two, the public at large would be able to better see how some of these prosecutions were politically motivated.

The little bits I heard of him speaking yesterday sounded just like his campaign vomit. His dementia has him repeating the same phrases repeatedly. It was rigged, Russia, Russia, Russia, drill baby drill, the likes of which you've never seen.

I only saw little bits too. But the issue of dementia didn't come to mind.
It did for you though. And based on "little bits." So, must be serious. Do you have some examples we should see?

He did mass pardon? I don't think so. He said there were several he was going to investigate. I could be wrong.
