Will the Trump supporting evangelicals notice this inability to receive a message of mercy and the immediate verbal abuse in response? Trump should just stop pretending to be a Christian. Lots of presidents don't try to blow smoke about a national day of prayer and humility. It should be easy for the most arrogant, corrupt, and dishonest president in history to simply ignore the Christian hoopla.

If showing compassion and understanding to fellow humans is politicizing perhaps she did bring her political beliefs into the sermon and he is demanding an apology.
But she also said "to pray for unity as a people and a nation — not for agreement, political or otherwise — but for the kind of unity that fosters community across diversity and division. Unity is not partisan.” Which also could be considered a political statement.
It's very important to his agenda to not humanize people. We are under attack and in a tremendous crime wave due to the border situation. Mercy and compassion are off the table when dealing with these types.
Tweety said:I also don't see how him individually pardoning and talking about them being politically motivated would have made a difference to people like myself because he's Trump.
Maybe not.
I do believe it would be good for the public to hear the stories like this man's:

Just a reminder, everyone here illegally is a criminal. Seems we've gone overboard showing mercy and compassion at the expense of our citizenry. We've treated them better than we treat our own homegrown criminals. Do you have any examples of Trump-directed lack of compassion and mercy.
Also, I'm trying to recall Trump dehumanizing supporters of his political opponents. Like calling them garbage or anything like that?
toomuchbaloney said:Dehumanization of targeted groups is definitely something that authoritarians and fascists engage in as a strategy. Trump is no exception.
I can't answer to that scenario but Trump and Republicans have been fact checked on their claims of a crime wave and it's been proven false. yet he repeated it again yesterday.
Of course no criminals and no crime would be ideal. Stopping illegal immigrants is one thing but if you're concerned about crime, time would be better spent looking at home grown criminals.
But apparently there's while there may be a "crime wave" over all crime has been on the downswing. Mind you this is data from the FBI, so it's suspect.

Yes, Biden did things he said he wouldn't do and which people might have criticized Trump for. As I said, Biden was all out of f's to give about that kind of stuff.
It was in reference to the article ypu posted. Which included Enrique Tarrio. The apparent "white supremist". I should have used his actual name. So it very much had to do with what you posted. Perhaps ypu made a mistake or didn't read the article you posted.

The FBI had to fact check itself. You are unaware of the revised data?
QuoteIn 2023, the FBI recorded a rate of 363.8 violent crimes per 100,000 people, down from the 2022 rate of 377.1 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
The agency revised the violent crime rate between 2021 and 2022.
Previously, the figures showed a 2.1% fall over this period, now the agency says there was a 4.5% rise.

Trump is a pathological liar. He can't help himself because it's part of his narcissistic personality disorder, like the lack of empathy and sense of entitlement are. He uses specific lies to agitate and motivate his devoted followers. An example of that is telling the Trump voters that immigrants are eating the pets of American citizens.

I don't like the narrative that they are political prisoners and that it was a "beautiful day". I will forever be talking about Trump and his great lie and his followers not believing in a democratic election and how (some not all) broke into the Capitol and sincerely wanted to stop the certification of Biden. Trump deflected to Biden in his response.
At the end of the of the day though I'm glad this trash was taken out and we can move forward. There's other things to worry about and this is low on my list as I too am not surprised. I also don't see how him individually pardoning and talking about them being politically motivated would have made a difference to people like myself because he's Trump.
