Trump is a pathological liar.  He can't help himself because it's part of his narcissistic personality disorder, like the lack of empathy and sense of entitlement are.  He uses specific lies to agitate and motivate his devoted followers.  An example of that is telling the Trump voters that immigrants are eating the pets of American citizens.

The "devoted followers" are the majority of Americans.  Hence his election win. Find something else. This "cult" narrative is old . Unless you believe that the votes he received, from the majority of Americans are cult victims LOL.

Oh and he received the most black votes for a Republican in 49 years. Must be bewitching them too right?

It was in reference to the article ypu posted. Which included Enrique Tarrio. The apparent "white supremist". I should have used his actual name. So it very much had to do with what you posted. Perhaps ypu made a mistake or didn't read the article you posted.

I didn't post an article.  Or maybe you didn't read my post?

I think you're talking about an article TMB posted.

Just a reminder, everyone here illegally is a criminal.  Seems we've gone overboard showing mercy and compassion at the expense of our citizenry.  We've treated them better than we treat our own homegrown criminals.  Do you have any examples of Trump-directed lack of compassion and mercy.

Also, I'm trying to recall Trump dehumanizing supporters of his political opponents.   Like calling them garbage or anything like that?

The last paragraph is deflection.  It's not for me to help you recall anything Trump has said (like vermin)

I've pointed out two articles earlier about some of the conditions about detention centers.  But for the most part I imagine they are treated well.

The pastor asked him to show compassion and mercy.  He just became president so there are no examples of him not doing so.  Its just spiritual advice to him.

I would like him to be more honest about the situation.  Yes I want him to succeed.  He's definitely going more aggressive than his first term.  The military is on their way.

Harris won 80% of the black vote.  Lower than Biden.  Harris won 92% of the black female vote.  Trump has nothing to brag about with these dismal stats.

I don't think the majority is in a cult but also not necessarily all "devoted followers".

I think some like his ideas and didn't like Harris and Biden and feel he's better for the economy, but not "devoted followers"

I do think that those who think he was ordained by God to lead or some of the criminals on January 6th are cult like in their devotion.

Hey @TMB did you know Trump won the election and the popular vote?

He definitely is great at getting re-elected and being divisive.  I think that, especially given the makeup of the house and senate and some of his obedient people there like the speaker, he will get a lot done. Despite him being full of himself (God ordained him to be President) and a fact-checked liar (he lost the election) as long as he gets things done people won't care about that, and what he thinks is important, a lot of Americans do too,  and for that he is indeed great and I've never claimed him to be stupid.

No, not deflection.  I addressed the comment, and then brought up Trump.

He shouldn't have said it, but it was his political opponents he referred to as vermin.  And, some indeed are.  Still, divisive language better not said.

Biden, as President, actually referred to people like me as being garbage.  Quite a bit worse.

And yet he won the election and the  popular vote!! Hahahahaha Hahahahaha 😄 🤣 😂 😆

You seem quite pleased by Mr. Trump's reelection.

How do you feel about him pardoning and giving commutations to the rioters who attacked police officers on Jan. 6? I hope that you have had time to gather information on that.

How do you feel about him criticizing the Episcopal Bishop who asked Mr. Trump to show mercy to the less fortunate? Is that pretty funny?

Are your eggs cheaper yet?

Does this belong in the DERP State thread?

Donald Trump's return to the White House is already having a big impact at the $47.4 billion U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), with the new administration imposing a wide range of restrictions, including the abrupt cancellation of meetings such as grant review panels. Officials have also ordered a communications pause, a freeze on hiring, and an indefinite ban on travel.

The moves have generated extensive confusion and uncertainty at the nation's largest research agency, which has become a target for Trump's political allies. "The impact of the collective executive orders and directives appears devastating,” one senior NIH employee says.

"This kind of disruption could have long ripple effects,” says Jane Liebschutz, an opioid addiction researcher at the University of Pittsburgh who posted on Bluesky about the canceled study sections. "Even short delays will put the United States behind in research.” She and colleagues are feeling "a lot of uncertainty, fear, and panic,” Liebschutz says.

Buckle up.

We shouldn't be hearing from anyone criticizing Trump's pardons unless they have told us their opinions on Biden's.

I know I have.

Honestly I thought that we would get through the next 4 years like we did the first 4 years. I no longer think that is going to happen.

I've been putting more and more thought into the pardons and other shocking  Day #1 actions by Trump. I've listened to, and read  different points of view, it really has my head spinning.

The pardons didn't just send a wink wink and thank you to the supporters, they sent a message that Trump has the power and the will to pardon violent actions that are done on his behalf.

Calling up his militia to force his agenda? He's got your back. His little armies of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are more ready and willing than ever

What happens when Trump defies the established law of the land such as for birthright citizenship? (his challenge contradicts the language of the 14th Amendment) or the Tik Tok ban? (Illegally blocking it's enforcement)

JD Vance in 2022:

Quote

"I think that what Trump should do, like if I was giving him one piece of advice, fire every single midlevel bureaucrat, every civil servant in the administrative state, replace them with our people. And when the courts — because you will get taken to court — and then when the courts stop you, stand before the country, like Andrew Jackson did, and say: 'The chief justice has made his ruling, now let him enforce it.’”

His record with the Supreme Court to date is the worst in modern history, ruling against him more than half the time. He may be tired of the court standing in his way.

Another Day #1 action sending a clear message - removing security protection for John Bolton - opposed me and I will expose you to the enemy.

The worst thing about all of this is that the people who voted for him are confused and distrustful of media generally, while heavily dependent on hearing directly from him and the approved right wing media.

That is exactly the state that fascists want their supporters to be in.  It's a strategy.

We were talking about immigration and you switched to Biden's campaign which is long over and you said it before but you can harp on it all you want.

Calling you garbage (and a Nazi supporter) is much worse than some of the things Trump has said.  Biden was widely criticized at the time.

I should be able to talk about how Trump is currently behaving without "but Biden was worse"

Trump won the election and the popular vote.  I'll never understand but I've moved on.
