It goes along with a general lack of awareness of history. Trump has been a notorious dirtbag and a known racist since the 70's. Longer than that in NYC.  How the American electorate lost its long-term memory would make an interesting study.

Yet, celebrities, politicians, and the public loved him until he went into politics.

I've posted numerous examples of this in the past.  Here's a new one for ya:

"Even when he was much younger, you knew that he was going to go places,' Sen. Schumer said of fellow New Yorker Donald Trump"

How so?

And, as I said the other day, I hope the Dems keep it up.  It sounds like a few may have wised up, however:

"Democrats who've urged a different approach say they worry that the party isn't doing enough to broaden the due process argument beyond Abrego Garcia's case. Others have argued it's a "distraction" from more politically salient messages on the economy that shifts the conversation to immigration, where Trump holds an advantage with voters."

I think Democrats by history are willing to get behind a social justice cause perhaps alienating some of their voters.  This is indeed a big distraction as it gets more and more attention especially from Republicans on the offensive.

That's me.  I'm a "radical left lunatic".

I too hope the Democrats keep it up.  Justice is never wrong.

"House Democrats have proven they care more about illegal immigrant gang bangers than American families,” National Republican Campaign Committee spokesperson Mike Marinella said in a statement. "Their agenda is clear: Elevate criminals. Abandon Americans.”

Really Republicans?  This is your comeback? This is bullcrap right wing rhetoric which I suppose resonates with right wing voters that want America First.

Instead of "we admit our mistake in sending him to this prison and will try to make it right" here we are demonizing the Supreme Court and saying we are pro-criminal and anti-America.

Really. That's exactly what works for them.  The political party that elevated an actual criminal wants to project that pro-criminal attitude onto others so badly.  You are correct, the rhetoric resonates with republican voters.

"Ignore the Supreme Court. Arrest anyone who tries to enforce this. Dissolve the Supreme Court entirely if they push. You can deport foreigners or you don't have a country anymore. There are no good choices now,” conservative talk radio show host Jesse Kelly wrote on X.

Probably the first time I heard "dissolve the Supreme Court" although I have heard of "stack the Supreme Court" before.

Anyway, that's just some influencer bloviating for publicity.  The article mostly focuses on the goings on the SCOTUS and the administration's actions.

Mike Davis, a fire-brand conservative lawyer and Trump ally, wrote that he hoped the justices "get their heads out of their asses.”

"This is shameful lawlessness and cowardice from the conservative justices,” wrote Davis, a former law clerk to Justice Neil Gorsuch, Trump's first appointee.

Newsom said there has to be a period of reflection and accountability for the Democratic Party.

“…If you don't learn the lessons of the past, you will repeat them,” said the governor, expressing some frustration with the lack of introspection by his party.

Methinks he can start by looking in the mirror.

The public still loves him as he won the popular vote.  You will always have some edgelords or Anti-American parasites who criticize the Republican platform of work ethic, personal responsibility, and love for the greatest nation in the world.

Meh, they're using him as a political pawn as is the administration.  There's no  practical reason for these Democrats to travel to El Salvador to see him.  When he eventually comes back, they'll have a parade for him.

The guy has an actual deportation order.  He's had due process.  Where Trump went wrong is ignoring the order to stay it.  The order to stay the deportation based on the guy's supposedly fear of danger by a gang that is a rival of the one he supposedly doesn't belong to.  He didn't get due process on that aspect of it.  That is wrong, but hardly the injustice of the century.

They've slowly leaked more info on this guy.  I'm hoping they have more.   They're letting the Dems solidify their support of him, get their photo ops,  bring him back to be celebrated.   They he'll get his due process where the rest of the story will come out.

The public does not love him that's why we are marching constantly.  That's why we have to remind each other through videos and messages to stay strong and alert and to love each other. To support each other in these unprecedented times for our age groups.  To try and come together to fight tyranny, authoritarianism and dictatorship.  What is an anti-american parasite but a terrible way to describe your brothers and sisters who don't look or have the same advantages as you?  Shame on you.

They are saying ignorant things Tweety.  They're constantly preaching rhetoric if you're not for 'what we are doing at the moment' you are against.  This is their inconspicuous way of trying to polarize Americans and prey on the weak minded.

Again, to me what's more wrong is admitting they made a mistake in sending him to prison and then throwing up their hands and saying "oh well" and their ridiculous response that Democrats put criminals above American families.  That he's deportable has never been denied.

It's not "the injustice of the century".  (That might go to Trump's "I won the election" fraud but I digress) and perhaps anointing him as the poster child of all things wrong about the Trump administration will prove to be the wrong approach.  But it's taken off.

I've said before you never know what is going to take off in the public consciousness.  Clinton was the poster child of evil with the "lock her up" campaign.  The group formerly know as the Dixie Chicks were canceled, Janet Jackson was canceled over the Super Bowl incident. Some murder cases and disappearances get nightly news,  Other similar cases were met with a "meh....."

No, not really.  I've criticized Trump before and the Republicans quite often.

What would be quite remarkable would be you acknowledging he accomplished something good.  Would you like to give it a shot?

can I give up yet.

Apparently, the White House didn't give the go ahead to send the letter to Harvard.

Is the shadow government getting too much attention or is Trump just trying to disassociate himself from the actions of his team?

Maybe the Trump administration has more incompetent bullies on staff than it does qualified professionals.

This will be interesting since Harvard is now suing the Trump Admin.
