Sites for buying used books

I'm a huge fan of half.com and amazon.com for used books, but I recently discovered http://www.campusi.com/ I'm startting to think this will become a favorite. It compiles prices from quite a few sites.

EBAY is a good site for used books too. I bought one of my NCLEX prep books from there.

However, I did use half.com for two of my summer textbooks because they actually beat amazon.com this time around.

I like Amazon bette. I ordered pharmacology and the nursing process from a seller on half.com July 2, I am still waiting. I emailed the seller 3 times, never responded. I filed a claim hoping to get back my money. That is the first time I have problem with half.com. I have been ordering books from that site for a long time. I hope to get my book soon or a refund. I also ordered 7 order books for friends and have received them. Maybe this was an isolated incident. Just make sure before you buy the seller has at least a 95% rating. The seller I ordered from was only her second items. Just read what other buyers have said. Good luck

http://www.bookfinder.com gives several places with price and quality comparisons. half.com will also have good finds, and if you hate doing the legwork yourself, usually for a small fee a good local independent bookstore will do it for you.

I type the ISBN in at campusbooks.com, which will search a bunch of sites at once. Usually half.com or amazon end up being the best deal, and I've never had any problems ordering from them. I also sold my microbiology text on half.com today within 30 minutes of posting it :)

If you're willing to do a little trolling around the internet, you can do quite well with some sites you probably wouldn't have found otherwise.

I used to type the exact name of the book, plus edition, sometimes with ISBN and sometimes without it, into Google. Then see what I'd get. With variations of the search, I could find all kinds of price comparisons at different sites; I sometimes found books for WAY less than they would otherwise cost and ordered with no problems for years. I oftentimes had my (cheap) books even before classmates who bought at brick-and-mortar stores :)
