Came across this and thought we need a little humor during out frequent breaks from studying......we need MORE breaks than the youngens.....you know what I mean

Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly change things.

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987 . They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering machine

They have always had cable.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws!

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter

Save the earth. It's the only planet with chocolate

Thank you for giving me a chuckle. So true! The other day I said to a classmate something about 'Laverne and Shirley' and she looked at me and said "who?" YIKES I FELT OLD. I guess I am getting old. When I went to school we had to wear pants. No shorts. Shorts were considered improper. Did I mention it gets up to 112 degrees here?!

Anyway, some sober thoughts about the generation growing up now. Terrorism is a part of life. They have no expectation of privacy.

On a more pleasant note, I can remember when there was no such thing as cell phones. Remember the first cell phones that came out? They were the size of a refrigerator! :rotfl: Ok, well maybe the size of a shoe box. Ok a little smaller, but still!

That was great! Some times I wish I could go back and be young again. Boy, I remember when the shuttle exploded, that was horrible, I don't think I will ever forget that. Remember not having a remote control and having to get up every time you needed to change the channel.:lol2:

I enjoyed the memory trip through time.

Way back when we had to wear dresses to school. Jeans were permitted after I had graduated High School.

well girls, that makes me feel better, i remember hot pants and bubble shirts, maxi coats remember them, and o yes we girls in the seventies invented belly shirts., and hiphugger jeans cut open on the bottom and we would sew in funky material. those were the days.:lol2:

Speaking of changing the channels, wasn't that us? Our parents used us kids to change from channel 2,11,13 or 45! Remember just 4 channels?

I guess that's why reading was so much fun, more variety than TV! Now we have over 300 channels and there's nothing on TV! That's what I love!

Does anyone remember doing drills in case of a nuclear bomb, in school? I remember in elementary school, the alarms going off and we had 3 seconds to huddle under our desks. The teacher would clock us. We would listen to talk about if the Russians were going to start nuclear war from parents, etc.

Speaking of which, I have to wonder, how would a child huddling under her desk be protected if a nuclear bomb went off?

Alive when JFK was shot? :lol2: I was born in '73. :D

Princess Diana's funeral wasn't long ago, really. I was in the hospital after the birth of my now 8 year old. (Sept. 4th).....right around the time of Mother Theresa's death as well.

Now, I remember thinking nursing school..errr even high school was sooooooo far away. Now high school has come and gone (1991), and I'm *HOPEFULLY* going to get the chance to go to nursing school.

For stress.......WHERE'S MY RUBIK'S CUBE?

For forgetfulness....WHERE'S MY SPEAK-N-SPELL?

For laughs.......WHERE'S MY GIGGLE STICK?
