A&P and Micro together

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just started my pre-req's for nursing. I was going for bio a few years back but wasn't into it because I didn't know where I wanted to take it, and therefore had no motivation to do well. My gpa really suffered so if I'm going to succeed in nursing I need to start raising that right away.

I don't need many classes outside of the nursing courses so to get a full 12+ credit semester I scheduled A&P and micro together, not having an clue that it maybe wasn't the best idea.

So now here I am a week into class, already studying non stop. I've even talked to my boss about going to prn from full time because let's be real, there's no way that was going to work out well.

Has anyone successfully done this? Is there any way I can get an A in both, taking them together. Or at least an A and a B?

I took both this past fall and received an A in both. I will tell you I don't think it's ideal because it's hard work to keep up with both but not impossible. It essentially feels like four classes with lab and lectures for both. My recommendation is to stay organized. I also tried to stay ahead of assignments so I didn't feel as pressured right before a deadline. I know you can do it and be successful. Good luck!

I'm in A&P II and Micro together this semester. It is a lot. Micro is a lot harder than I imagined. Hang in there with me ;)

Yes I did it. (A's in both) but it was a ton of work. And micro was way more work than AP1 which i was not expecting! If you are organized and study a lot it is possible.

Pretty sure there is a post a few down from this on the same

Me too. I would highly recommend actually doing part time if you can.

I am in the same boat with you!

I decided to take A&P and Micro this semester, but i think i overdid it with the College Algebra, a humanities course, and the continuation to my nutrition class (1 credit class centered around case studies)

It has been about 3 weeks since I started, and I personally am finding that Micro is coming easier to me. I don't know if that is because of my instructor or just how my brain functions. I however, can't imagine doing both of those tough classes working!

it is just very hard to split focus between a job and studying. Especially when the classes don't really compliment each other. A&P 2 and Micro seem to go better together.

Just stay focused and you can do it! You just have to really have confidence in yourself and you will do just fine!

I'm taking A&P 2 and micro this semester, so far it seems to be going pretty well.

last semester I took a&p 1 and Chemistry together and oh boy was it stressful but I manged to pull a A in both classes. Its possible you just have to put your mind to it .

Best of luck

Would anyone be so kind to share what resources they used to study besides text book and lecture ? Much thanks

I am currently taking A&P1 and micro together, along with two other classes. I spend 6 hours a day MINIMUM studying atleast 5 days a week. I think I made a mistake doing these two together but oh well. We can do it!

I bought an A&P for dummies and also Microbiology for Dummies. So far they are making everything so much easier to understand

I took Micro, A&P I, and Chem 2, on top of an ethics class. I received all A's on them. It's a lot of work, but definitely manageable. Don't just memorize. It helps to actually understand the material. I outlined the textbooks and relied on that.
