Completely agree with you! When you're in high school, everyone brags about the colleges they got accepted to. It really doesn't matter. I have others who went straight to Rutgers for all four years, and I'm graduating with a bsn in the same school with the same degree. The only difference is that I saved thousands of dollars

I'd like to add on to that. The school I transferred to looked at our overall GPA and science GPA.

I think taking pre-reqs and transferring to a 4 year college for a bsn is more convenient. You'll graduate with an associates of science, so you'll have something to fall back on if nursing happens to not work out. :)

I took Micro, A&P I, and Chem 2, on top of an ethics class. I received all A's on them. It's a lot of work, but definitely manageable. Don't just memorize. It helps to actually understand the material. I outlined the textbooks and relied on that.

I recently got accepted to Rutgers' nursing program after taking pre req's at a community college. It was a breeze because Rutgers made a partnership with my community college, so everything was laid out clear. I suggest you look around on community college websites and see if there's any information on transfer programs. Or look up the schools directly. I only applied to one program because every single nursing program around my area all had different pre req's so I suggest looking around or emailing/calling some people up. My advisors didn't know anything and unfortunately, I took two classes I didn't need and they were my only B's. Don't rely on what advisors say. Rely on the direct source. I'm glad I took this route because I saved a ton of money :). Goodluck!

I took my pre req's and transferred to Rutger's New Brunswick with a 3.88 GPA. Someone got in with a 3.0 and some people didn't get in with a 3.5+. GPA matters, but I think supplemental materials are as important.

Update as well! I recently found out that I've been accepted. Currently have a 3.88 GPA. Did not have letters of recommendation or community service listed. Hope that helps anyone. I also think the essay was very important for this application process.

I just found out that I've been accepted into the program!

I'm currently attending a community college and I applied to nursing program. The problem was that transfer programs near my area all have different pre-requisites. I am graduating this semester in May, and I only had enough courses taken to apply to one place - which is my ideal place. I have a 3.9 GPA but I'm still worried I won't get accepted. Last year, there were around 150 applicants, and they took 30 people. Should I be worried? I find out this week. The only thing that I think I'm worried about is not listing any community service. Thoughts?

Isn't a BSN and a BScN basically the same thing?

So it's okay for the professor to be reported by numerous people and have to be monitored for every class by a dean halfway through a semester? I personally do not think I deserved the grade I got. They both also have been let go after the semester I had with them. Your opinion though.

I have one more semester left, and so far I have all A's and 2 B's. Those two classes are Statistics I, and Intro to Nutrition. I took these classes my first semester. I felt like both professors I had for those classes were horrible (Didn't show up half the time, exams not matching up to textbook, etc.) For my community college, the higher grade will reflect my GPA, but the transcript will show both grades. Do you think I should retake the courses and get those B's to A's?

I am currently also attending Camden County College and was wondering the same thing. I want to know the GPA everyone got who transferred and how the program is.

Looking at my current situation right now, I'm expected to get a B in biology. I'm also taking chemistry 1 this semester and have a perfect score so far in that class. My current GPA is 3.714 I have 2 semesters remaining before I transfer to a 4 year university. I've been nervous lately, especially when the time to apply will be here before I even know it. Do you guys think I'm doing okay so far? Also, a few quick questions. Did you personally find biology or microbiology to be more challenging? What about A&P? Is it more challenging than micro/bio or not? I'm new here, and found this site recently and I've gained some pretty valuable information. :) Any additional words of wisdom will be gladly accepted!
